About 6 weeks ago I bought an offtopic part, for an offtopic car through craigslist.. decent deal but nothing special. When I went to pick it up the whole barn was FULL of old Ford parts, from Model A to '60s Mustang, the place was overflowing with it. The owners wife told me there was much much more in the other building on the property.
They were cleaning up the place to put the house for sale, but didn't know what to do yet with the 30+ years of parts her husband collected, she even mentioned the scrapyard!!

So I left my number and told her to call me if they decided to get rid of it all, I would be interested to buy some or all of the stuff and get it out of the barns.

Today I got the call, tomorrow I'm going to see if we can make a deal.

Soon I may go over to load some trailers, I saw 10+ complete engines in the one building alone so it's going to be a job to get it all out of there.

I'm so excited I just had to post it here, I'll take pictures tomorrow and give you all an update, if I can't make a deal for everything I may post some part/pieces or the guys contact info on here to see if we can save it from the scrapper.

Wow! I love it when I hear stuff like this. Wish it would happen to me! I also need some Vintage Ford parts. Can I send you a private message with my wish list?

before you send out a wish list, let me first go check it out and see if we can make a deal... who knows, the guy may want a million bucks for this stuff.

Some parts I do know, 4+ flathead 8's (59 and 8BA) at least 2 '39 transmissions.. several '60s car big blocks (Mustang?), axle bells, backing plates, B blocks and loose parts.

  18. All you have to do is pay more than scrap. Pay attention as you load it up and anything that's big money gets put up for sale someplace right away -

Good for you! Post some photos so we can enjoy the fun too! Buyouts are THE BEST! You never know what some of that stuff is worth, nothing wrong with making a few bucks these days. If you have the room gather up every bit thay don't want.

    Just bought the whole collection.

Most of the model A/B stuff was gone, someone from the model A restorers club got their hands on that.

But still a very nice collection of parts and pieces:
    • 2 complete 289s
    • 2 complete 302s
    • 427 PI
    • 59A Flathead
    • 8BA Flathead
    • 36 Flathead (I think)
    • 2 '39 transmissions
    • set of 35 wheels
    • good set of 35 front fenders
    • an original 60s moon fuel tank with the hand pump and the matching parachute
    • several sets of hydraulic backing plates and matching drums
    • several banjo rear ends
    • couple of extra sets of late flathead heads
    • couple of sets of 8BA truck water pumps
    • bunch of carburetors
    • set of 35? headlights
    • 4 speed truck trans
    • 3 speed side shift trans for flathead
    • several 8BA bellhousings and starter plates
    • numerous crankshafts and other engine pieces

As soon as I upload the pictures I'll post them here. Best part, I've got several weeks to remove all of it and it's only 5 minutes from the house.
