Seriusly, I'm so jealous right now I could puke. You're a lucky man.

Good lord! I'd probably stick a new engine in it and drive it. Wish my finds looked like that.

My plan is to hopefully salvage the engine, take my time to do the body right, paint it it's original black

Ah yes it sure is nice to have a wonderful wife, mine surprised me with a Ducati last year! She is a keeper for sure.

Nice score there... keep us posted on the build.

Very nice coupe and its a chevy too:eek: Here are a couple ideas for the motor. Use a 302 gmc with a mcgurk 5 carb intake with 5 rochesters all hoked up and run no hood. check out the museum of american speed. There is a 235 with the 5 carb setup so you get the idea of what i mean:D

    Neat three window!

What do you plan to do about the front fenders?? My five window has dual side mounts, too, but the existing pockets are too narrow for any thing but the original five inch tire. I really like them, but I have seen very few rods with side mounts. Do you think they are aappropriate??

    Regards, Twobit

Twobit - I think I'll keep the fenders original. Those wells are kinda ugly and Bowtie Reproductions has repops with out. For awhile the plan included just getting a new pair. But at $635 ea... So to keep it in the spirit of the early hot rod it is, they stay.

An overdue update...I somehow got off track and rebuilt a couple of my all time favorite motorcycles in the meantime. There is more tubing to add, something to support the roll down rear window, couple more for the floor, some lead work, etc.
Really enjoying the build now, and making progress.

Here is a pic of the subrails and support structure under the floor. Pretty sure this is final except for the trans tunnel.
