From staring intently at your pictures, the car appears to have some serious issues. For one, there is some dust on the windshield. Even more difficult to remedy would be the fact that the steering wheel is upside down. And I imagine the air conditioning system needs a whiff of freon before it will be of any use.

You really need to drive it for a while to see if the two of you belong together. I've had a couple of really pristine cars that I just never could get excited about, and sent them on down the road. For one as unusual as this, give it some time, see how you feel about it in a few months.

My 2 cents worth ... if you decide to keep it, keep it original ... otherwise, sell it to a collector and use the money for something you really want. It's a good thing to have some of these complete, original cl***ics making it into the future unaltered ....

I've met the wife, she's a definate keeper. Seen the car, might be a keeper. But, my vote would be to let me come get it while you decide. Be there in 20 minutes with the trailer.... Help me load????

The '60 has what has to be the absolutely goofiest styling on the rear of the car - looks like four trailer lights, straight from the factory! Yet, it had the cool Mercury styling on the front, and all on the '60 Ford body platform! With that said, I'd keep the Edsel and do what the majority of the responders have stated. It IS a nice car, and it definitely draws the attention. With the 1960 model year, you also have the fewest built, by far, of the three years of Edsel production.

Hell, I'd drive it, and I'm a Mopar man!

Is the car white, or that really light pink that Ford had back then? I can't tell from the pics.

I myself would want to keep it just for the fact that it is something different. Who else has one ? Not too many people. If there were only 777 of them, probably less than 25 percent are still around. I dig it.....

Wow, that is only the 3rd '60 I've seen on the HAMB. The first one (that I remember anyway) was a 2 door sedan.

Edsels always got a bad rap. They actually were pretty good cars. I'd keep it and modify.

about as many as there are people on this forum. it's something your going to have to decide on your own, though i'm certain you will get opinions for every option you can imagine.

In this economy if you have a chance to sell at a profit I'd let it go. Never know when those 'BRAINS' in washington will decree that owning any old car is against the law and they come and forceably remove anything older than say 2005 from your property and give you nothing for it. The next four years are going to be really INTERESTING if you get my drift. A lot of things we think are impossible to happen will become reality very shortly. Remember, you heard it here.

To find a '60 Edsel in THAT condition for a reasonable price is EXCELLENT. You'll attract attention at shows. And when your wife sees how much you sell it for eventually, she'll realize the wisdom of the "gamble" !

I agree. Given the rarity and the condition I'd only do things that could easily be undone. Wheels, lowering. Simple things. And save anything you take off so it can stay with the car. All original means a lot to people.

But beyond that enjoy the **** out of it until you sell her.

As for selling I'd look to the Edsel Club. http://www.edselclub.org/
