Staying with the 'cave' theme, there's supposed to be an old mine shaft out west of Brisbane that was used as a car dump for many years. It's vertical so the cars are stacked one on top of the other, basically in chronological order, the oldest at the bottom. Apparently the vertical shaft ends in a horizontal one, and if you go along the horizontal one to the bottom and look up you can see the lowest car in the pile wedged across the shaft several metres up. It's a WW2 Jeep, and no one's game to try to get it out cause the whole stack is going to come down with a bang when it lets go.

    Cheers, Glen.

Yeah, something similar in old gossip.
Apparently when the Yanks were based around Cairns during the WW2, heaps of military stuff was around.
However when the war finished the rumour has it the bulk of the machinery, tanks, cars etc were put into a huge cave near Mulgrave and the front of the cave then exploded over and the contents sealed for good.

Isn't there some cave moonshiners used as a chop shop near Chicago? Someplace you had to get to with your car on a raft or something?

Yeah, Squigy, you are right, but lets look at it this way.
We have to keep our sense of humour somehow with all the shit going on around us.
I am into having a good laugh always at life and also at myself.
So to brighten up the day and get out of the winter blues, I thought this thread might lighten up the day for us all.
Enjoy and put your 2 cents worth in also.
    thx
