The truck is now in place. Once I get some good progress going I plan on starting a new thread for the resto.
This appears to be locked in time.Make it run and drive it when you can. Some things are better left alone. This looks like one of them.Congratulations on your find.
Missed this thread the first time around - great find! Beauty is its perfect just like it is. get it runnin and run it!
Timmy, Sure was nice having all you guys over! Also nice of out PA buddies to make the long drive down. I tried before and it failed so im trying the photos again.
TOOOODDDDD, I don't have time to work on my projects, let alone the thought of keeping my shop lookin like that. Tell Stephany thanks for letting you have us over to play Saturday. Tiiiiimmmmyyyy
i have come accross some really bitchin barn finds but that is the cats meow man!!! i can only hope to find something like that!!
leaving it not restored makes it look like a rat rod,, l'd vote restore so not to be called a dreaded RR!!!
Beleive it or not, I trailered this thing to a nostalgia drag show last year and stopped to get gas. There was this guy there with a Model A truck (RR) He came over and asked me how I got the paint to look like that because he wanted to do his. Then he proceeded to tell me what a great job I did on it. I just smiled and walked on.
Now that's funny!! Thanks for stopping by today, Todd! Looking forward to see your beauty in person one day.
VA HAMB, Congrats on the find...the new house and garage too!! Glad to know you are still on to restore this truck. That is the justice a piece of history like this one deserves. The story of the guy with the a pickup at the gas station is reason enough to restore that truck. Who needs anyone thinking it is a rat rod...that is a disgrace to anything as cool as that truck let alone a REAL RACE CAR!!! Did Mr. Morris make it down for your garage party? I sure hope that you can have that truck done while he is still with us....Any chance he still has the trophies he won with that truck? If so, how cool would it be to get the truck restored, then take it to him so you can have a picture taken of it with him and all the trophies set on it like in the picture you posted of it from his tool box!!! AWESOME STUFF. Who knows, maybe you could make a deal with him as long as you still have the truck, you would be in line to buy those trophies when and if he was willing to part with them. Once again, CONGRATS. Have a great Thanksgiving...and a great resto.... Al.
Thanks 1/2 Evil No Jim didn't make it up and he still says that the trophies are long gone. Still hoping though. My garage is no longer spotless. I have started on it and its packed with filler. Hopefully soon I will start a new resto thread. Jim said he might come up soon and take another look.
Bring her back to her old glory and enjoy the hell outta her! I'm really looking forward to this build. Good Luck!
This was just e-mail to me from a friend. What is most interesting about this is the advertisement for Ronnie Monroe sign painting. Mr. Monroe was the one that painted the lettering on the truck. He recently passed away.
Man it just keeps comin for ya...and that is cool! Are you making progress on the truck...I know you have not been in that new place long but.....I really want to see this truck done!!!
