It looks great, keep up the good work. Make it just the way you want it, it's your car. Hope to see it next summer at the Cheaterama if you get it done.

Well, John, I think it'd be better to recreate this one of yours:

most of us take what we can get and make the most out of it, what you are doing is wrong, if you like the look then go find an older car, that brookville deserves more

And before anyone gets on about those tyres, the original photo of that 5-window was taken in around '81-'83. I think Mr. Stimac knows his way around old Fords.

He-he "what you are doing is wrong" think about that. Killing kittens is wrong, he's doing a car the way he wants. Dont be a dumb***.

Funny how a load of you guys were drooling over John Stimac's Deuce Sedan Delivery here on the HAMB but want to roast his *** for doing what he wants to his own current project.

John has all the hot rod credentials and has paid his dues a long time ago. Most of you could not hold a candle to his cars, so maybe you should think twice before you p*** judgment. Oh silly me, I am forgetting that we live in the age of no respect for anybody or anything.

So many guys read what they want in a post and jump to conclusions!

I take it that John is building a car that appears to have been parked in a barn in it's original condition and time moved on.

I don't know John from Adams house cat but after looking over his profile I think he Knows more about Hot Rods than a lot of the nay sayers.

Again,,,it's his car and he is willing to sharing the build with us,,nothing more, nothing less. HRP

Nice looking traditional project. Keep us posted on the progess.

To me it looks like an original '32 with a few brookville rust panels installed. :)

The hater's probably wouldn't have got their ******* all wadded up if you would have left out the "barn find" description. Call it a traditional hot rod.

leave John alone...I for one, would like to see this build.

I think it's cool as hell when someone wants to build something other than a cookie-cutter car.

remember...we're having fun with old cars, right?

I think it will be cool....and whoever said that it would be cheaper to buy an actual barn find car didn't see the 32 3 window body and ch***is that sold at that auction in Nebraska for $47,000. For all the "experts" that like to throw their opinion out there a lot of them sure sound uneducated on the topic. I would rather have 2 of those Brookvilles for that kind of money.

Larry is right on about the Rolling Bones cars...I plan on doing the same fake patina to my '32 Vicky.....and what's even worse, I could care less about a '32 Ford and I am just going to do it because I know it will piss everyone off. ha ha ha

Screwum. Do it your way. They were all wetting their pants over your delivery, and it's a conversion just like mine. I build to suit myself not the m***es, and you have always done the same. Sorry about your having to put up with that Arizona weather for the winter. It' a dirty job but someones got to do it.

I agree that the term "barn find" probably leads one to believe your trying to built something representative of what it is not, (fake) as long as your not trying to "p*** it off" build it how you want. I have similar thoughts on my next build in waiting, an original 31' roadster body. I believe the flat black paint trend started as a means to replicate Henry' original black that had faded pretty well by the late forty's to early fifty's, an image of the traditional hot rods of the time. Decent body work, and decent paint, probably a flat black, will make me feel better about driving it all the time, as apposed spending a ton of time & money on perfect body work and paint on a car that some would turn into a trailer queen. With that Brookville body, you can have that perfect $10,000.00 paint job if you choose, but if it were mine, I rather drive the hell out of it!

Oh wait, it isnt a highboy, that's what's wrong.... :)

Isn't the US suppose to be "the land of the free"? .......

(Please dont use that as an excuse to turn this tread into a political **** fight).

Just for the record I drive a flat black 32 with red wheels and whitewalls and dont give a care in the world if anyway thinks its ****. I just stopped washing it a couple of months ago and as I live on the coast, its getting a barn find vibe about it :) :)

I might not like the idea too much, but it's your car and you do what you want! If you spent a lot of money on that expensive Brookville, I think you should do what you want and not what all these HAMBers want! Every hotrodder's dream is his own!

I probably wouldn't do it, but I don't see anything wrong with it as long as he's honest about it, and it seems as though he will be or he wouldn't have told all of us what he's doing. It's just a Brookville, what's he hurting? There's nothing wrong with going for a certain style when you build a car, and that's all he's doing. What's next, if you want a red car, you gotta buy one cause painting a blue one red would be "fake".
I just saw a thread on here where a guy was gonna cut up a real nice A survivor and build what sounded to me like it could end up a R word car, and many of you guys were applauding that.

holeshot ... the "Official H.A.M.B. Welcomer" (309 posts and 75% of them are "welcome" posts) ... by any chance are you a greeter @ Walmart? :D

... and just for the record, I wasn't one of the naysayers that "put John down" ... I really didn't know that "barn find" was a style of Hot Rod.

I think some of you guys are just getting bent over the term "barn find". Look past the primer body at the rest of the parts. I can see where he's going, and I think it's going to be *****in. And would Carl steer him wrong? I think not.

Build dozens of cars to perfection, and then decide to take a left turn to build something different? IMO, that's art. The artist always evolves to keep his creativity going. Just saying.

Most of us around here are so poor that the only thing that we can afford are cars that are p***ed over and forgotten. The hope of finding such a car is rare and exciting. To see those who are more fortunate try to recreate these cars is like flanting a carrot on a stick in front of us. I do not lust over others, but I do not enjoy others who are insensitive to people less fortunate. Recreating barn cars is a fad like billet and rat rods. All said, I am sure it will be a nice car. Just leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
