A lot of the pissing on this thread is probably due more to jealousy than anything. Every now and then a find like you've got comes along, and it makes a lot of guys wish they were the "finder". Nice score on all the cars, I love that old Buick! By the way, I'm jealous too, but ain't gonna be pissy about your good fortune......

Enjoy the ones you keep, and good luck on getting the highest price possible on the ones you sell. It's capitalism at it's finest!

Really? I'll be sure to remember that the next time I'm listing up 75-180 items in one day at work to sell them with reserves.

I work at a motorcycle shop and am in charge of Ebay sales and listing. Believe me, most people most certainly DO NOT skip and auction because of the reserve.

Of course, here's your best bet:

Spend the $$$ to have a professional classic car appraiser come out to your place and take a good look at them.

It's almost always worth the fee to get one to come out, and then when you are done with that you'll have an appraisal document for each one so when some asshole cries at the price (and you'll likely meet that whiner here ;)) you can hand them the document and say "That's what the appraised value is".

As for posting up a question about the value of a find, what's wrong with that?

I don't personally feel like this is any more of a waste of bandwith than the 15 fucking threads a day about "Custom Flatz Paint" and crap like that.

At least this one has good solid info and ideas.

  4. That merc looks killer. Mine was black on yellow. I sold it for 850.00. That was '83. Yea, that was a mistake.

Your all a bunch of haters! And this is exactly why alot of FNG's do not post such as myself.Every body dwells on how a question is worded or lack of pictures of a car that every body has seen.If you can help the guy out go ahead and post an answer,if not just shake your head and move on!

Then again, where is a better place to do research than here? I've not been here real long but I can't recall anything that has been posted that someone didn't know what it was and some idea about it.

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone that helped out.I've had alot of PM's from helpful people.I'm a Hot Rodder not a computer guy,not a salesman.I work on cars for a living at a dealership,I'm a master mechanic,I'm an honest guy not trying to be a dick.I just happened on this deal thought I would ask for some help from fellow BROTHERS for some honest fair prices, fair for buyer & seller.I could put the cars on ebay & go for the highest bid but thought I would try here first for an honest deal.Maybe I was wrong for asking,to all those offended SORRY!

Depends on the year of Lancer... You may have some desirable pieces, esp. if they are for the '59s.

    Yes, good luck with that.

I'll provide some much needed advice. See the FNG under your name?? That tells everyone here that you just registered or recently registered and then come and pop off this question asking people here to do what you yourself were unwilling or unable to do.

Here's what you do. If you could afford the barn, offer to hire someone here (and pay them) to give an honest appraisal of the vehicle(s). If you're not willing to pay someone for a good appraisal, then you're dumber than a box of rocks to come here and ask for free advice...because it's worth what you paid for it.

    Finally, try www.collectorcarmarket.com or www.manheimgold.com, or www.nada.com

Thanks for the advice Jdholmes. The funny thing is all they have to do is look at my join date & see I've been on here for almost 2 years.Just because I don't post on here everyday to gain ranking, does that make me the bad guy.Obviously I'm spending more time in the shop & less on the computer, maybe some people on here should try that.Isn't that what Hot Rodding is all about the cars or is it typing on a computer?
