Hey guys I need some help. I found a 56 F100 that had been hotrodded back in the day. It has been parked for about 18+ years. It has a 68 390 with a FXM auto. many other things done to it. The steering column has me at a total loss. Thought it was Caddy but can not find any matching columns. The wiring connector is a quarter moon with two rows of five pins. Attached (I hope) is the horn bar with a crest I can not identify. Dose anyone know what it is? Push comes to shove and it is gone..
Q: Well, how do we get to the fire mam? A: Well, Duh, A big red truck Wheres the "pics" of the truck, then? First Barn find post Ive ever seen with only a pic of an off topic year horn ****ton that was in it...
Neat old truck! I would black in the hood with something(sealer/paint?),toss the headrests and drive 56s are a favorite ford, I had one a while back.
Running shifting but not stopping yet. Two new cylinders on the back. flushing the system today. Had an industral back bumper on it. No tailights. Removed bumper, made brackets, added tailights. Needs some wireing done. Mul***ude of small things. Came with two hoods. Both useable. The one shown is off a 250. Changed carb, runs good. Will leave running gear as is for now. Other than gas consumption the 390 is more than adequate
Looks like you have a good start on a cool project. Is the sheet metal as good as it looks in the pictures?
Metal is good. Only surface rust. Bottom front corner of both doors rusted through. Wet leaves or something caused it. Brakes fixed, wireing in progress. Ins, and plates in Jan 17. Found a set of NOS chrome stacks for it. Lots of little things. You know how that goes. The 32 is its stable mate. 26 T coupe in the yard is next...........if I live to be a 100.
Its yours, to do as you please but "I" would vote no on the stacks, especially on that truck. A guy that later owned the one I had, put some on it...holes cut in the running boards I had searched for and found etc....I thought I had saved it enough to send it on its way but after seeing that, It made me feel like I was being punished for ever selling it.........sorry for the rant but like I said It is yours, like my old one was that guys....different strokes for different folks
These are old school stacks. Come out in the space between the bottom of the bed and the top of the running board. Turn up 90 degrees and go to top of cab and 45 degrees slash cut to the back. Very popular in the late 50s. If I don't like them, then I only have to fill the hole in the side panel. Which can be filled with a marker light. Or running board light.
