Been lurking here awile, I need help. Found this in a barn, guy said make offer and haul it out. I dont even know what year this is, 34-36. Should I haul it out? What should I offer? Opinions please.
It is a very nice looking 1935 Ford Tudor. Great find. I would easily pay $5000 for one in the condition it appears to be in. Good luck.
Nice one, I would be right on it and quick, if you can get it for $5.K you would steal it, I would pay up to $9.K and be happy.
yes, it's probably worth at least the $5000 , but what does he want for it? i have always felt that the seller should set his price. FYI , that is a slantback and in my opinion more desirable than a humpback
Great Find. Anything less than $7500 sounds like a good deal too me. I would offer much less though, if he just wants it hauled off. Get it!!!!
Wow! Great find. I too would start a little low on the offer and see where it goes. You can always go up! Let us know if you get it?
Looks real straight from what I can see in the photos, that alone would make it worth having and it is a desireable model to boot ; go for it ! Be a little cautious with your first offer , he may really just want to get rid of it and accept a relatively low offer . I'd start at $1000, good luck. Waldo
Start at $1000 and you may piss the guy off and be shown the door, never to return. Maybe try $2500. But he is selling, so ask him what he'd take for it for. He must know what he'll take and what he wont. Or tell him to give you a figure so that you can see if you can afford it.
Bring $7K in cash, and start low. Just make sure he is the owner, has a ***le, and can legally transfer it to you. You don't want to get involved in some 3rd party dispute.
Grab it! Even if the engine is junk it's worth at least $5,000 for a goood straight body & running gear. Butch
I'd have to ask the guy what's it gonna take to buy it.....let him set the bar where he's comfortable...then if he thinks its a 15K car you don't offend him really bad with a lowball offer. Besided...he may be thinking he'd be happy with $1500....which you should gladly just pay.....with no ****ering (but most guys like a killer deal so you could still offer less!)
i agree with krooser, start low and go from there. if he doesnt like what you offer keep goin up. isnt gonna hurt to try! good luck!
I am here in Reston and not to many barns left in this neck of the woods. You better hurry up and make that deal
I want to thank all of you on this board, I knew I could rely on you. My hesatation on this car is only what to do with it, that is, cut it up,sell this for parts, rod it, or restore it. This doesent seem like a good candidate for a restoration (popularity). A barter deal has been struck, I will drag it home soon. I will have to think long and hard what to do with this. Thanks to all of you again for your encouragement. Mike
WTF???? If you really don't know what to do with it, sell it to someone who would. Clean it up, put it on e-bay, count your profit and let someone who can appreicate it take over.
First of all, from what we can all tell from the pictures, you'd be crazy to part that car out... They can't ALL be coupes, there's nothing wrong with a sedan...if you got that thing roadable as-is, people would be drooling over it... Keep it together and get it going, then sell it to someone that cann visualize the finished product that THEY want... Seriously? You'd cut THAT up for parts?
Now what kind of a stupid question is that?! When i doubt, rod it out! Hell, it looks like it was a hotrod already! good score!
