I am just kidding! She is a sweetest lady and she knows these cars and what they are worth. Eventually she wants to sell the whole property. 20 fenced acres, 30X60 shop plus another building with separate trim shop, paint shop (he was an uphosterer and painter), and wood shop. I will be going back to get more info and pictures of the cars and all the tools. Only 2 of the vehicle do not have titles but they do have the original bill of sale when her husband bought them. There is at least one other car she knows about and has title to and it's in a storage yard in town.... a 49 Oldsmobile. She said there might be more she doesn't even know about and will be going through all the paper work.
good grief. I might be willing to move- that sounds like nice property. If she threw ina car or two that would sweeten the deal.
You better hope he is dead, even then 20$ he will be haunting you!!!! As long as you live........ He probably was a cool guy, nice cars, put his heart and sole into them. tt
That snowblower would be just the thing for my 500' drive back to the shop. It's off a side road and at right angles to the wind so the drifts are anywhere from 3' to 6' after an average storm. One pass and I could get back to hot rod building. Frank
Judging by the chains on the front wheels of the snowblower, the stance and the looks of the front hubs, that Ford truck most likely has a Marmon-Harrington 4WD setup in it.......very cool and very rare.
I'm still doing research on this stuff and should have most of the items priced and posted next week. Be patient I want to be fair to her and get the best reasonable prices for all.
Very sad that he didn't see them finished, but from the description of the property, shops, etc. it sounds like he had himself a hell of a neat place and probably loved working on his cars in that arrangement. They should include the snowblower if the land buyer is a car guy.
Great deal. Congrats. How is the lady doing? Sometimes we tend to forget what someone is going through in a situation like this, hopefully she is a strong person and doing fine. Man it is nice that you can end up with the 34. It looks awesome. I'm a diggin that snowblower...post up a price for that one when you figure it out!!! I sure could have done without this tho. vvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvv
Well today I went back to see the lady I had meet last week that wants me to sell her late husband's cars. I got some more photos and info on the cars. I also told her the 34 Ford is sold! I'm buying it. I am so excited this is like my dream Hot Rod in the Barn story come true! The body is in excellant condition. The paint is cracking and peeling on both side of the rear window. The grille and fenders are in excellant shape. The front end has unsplit wishbones, 40 hydraulic drum brakes and tube shocks
I'm keeping the interior like it is. The headliner and doors were finished but looks more 70-80s to me.
Confirmed the Thunderbird is an authentic Sport Roadster. Correct numbers and original Kelsey-Hayes wire wheels.
DMW,you know I still hate you for this find, right? Anyways, what did you find out on that Vicky for me?
Some people get all he luck! While reading this my mind sliped into a stoned state,,,like I was dreaming this or something. I love '34's! Enjoy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Cool thread, and congrats on your new old Ford V-8! I'd love to have that T-Bird, I have wanted one since I saw them new when I was 10 years old!
