Hi Guys,My Dad & and I found by accident found a stock '31 5 window Model A coupe body in a barn. It appears that it had sat in the back corner of the barn for some time, due to the thick layer of dust.It has some dings that are pretty small, has all of the wood supports for the roof, bench seat, some nick knacks for the interior & a chrome grille shell. I didn't take any pics of the body in the barn, since I forgot the camera (doh). By the time we got the body & parts home it was dark outside. I'll take some pics in the next few days & post them of body. There is no plans as of yet of what my Dad & I are wanting to build yet until after the '62 is sold, then we'll be like white on rice on the '31. My Dad & I will be asking & posting alot of updates once we start working on the duece. I got a pic of the 5 window that I had taken tonight I can send to someone to post for me, but it's a little dark.David
awesome project...later, i'd like to find some kind of '32 or so roadster body to build up old school flat black, and add to the line up
thats great you found one!!! i am still looking for "MY" barn!! after i come back off of cruise next year i will start lookin more indepth. congrats man, cant wait to see pictures!!!
Very cool Can't wait for pics! Now that you are a Model A owner, quit calling it a 5 window. That's a '32 and later thing as all Model A Coupes were 5W.
Thanks guys. Comet, I didn't know that. I got a few pics taken earlier today, I still need to pull the truck out of the garage to take some in the full sun. There is a few very small areas of body cancer that will need to be addressed once I get a A frame. The lower inner structure of the deck lid, the lowest rear corner edge of the back 1/4's, and 1 tiny spot ont eh lower p***enger side of the cowl. There is a few dents, but are very shallow, and most of the work is on the p***enger door. It did come with new wood for the roof structure, it also came with all the windshield parts plus visor. It even still had the stock bench seat, the trunk pan looks pretty clean, with some dents, not worried, it's coming out. David
awsome!......thats how I found my dads coupe....I was driveing around and stoped at this old timers house looking for parts for my car. As I was leaving I seen he had a body under a tarp. I walked over and took a peak....sure as ****, it was a cherry coupe body. Made a deal with the man about a year later.
i have a local buddy who builds those cars, and has a good connection on ready to go frames if you need one.
WOW!, can't believe these cars are still out there. Incredible find! As I've mentioned before, here in Florida, this early iron doesn't have a chance, way too much humidity. Love the scallopped pickem-up too! How 'bout a matching paint scheme on the 5 window?? Think of how cool it would look pulling into the HAMB drags, in tow?? JT
