Found this in Ohio in 2006. The ol' boy owned it since 1964 and decided it was time to unload it. The last time he had plates on it was 1985.

Here is my once in a lifetime find in 1994. It was in an old row-house basement that was once a machine shop. The door opened in as the traffic zoomed by just 24" away. The last shot is it's first trip out in 2008.

Got tired of kicking myself over all the barn-finds that I passed on over the years so I grabbed this one before they all disappear.

My car (the one in my avatar) was a barn find, unfortunately the barn had collapsed on it a decade or two before i bought it.

Here's my survivor the way it sat. 1965 HD Electra Glide. This used to be a cop-bike in Newport News, VA. I've got the history of it all the way back to the original dealership.

It came with bags, fairing, gaurds, a red bubble light, and a huge solo seat on a pogo stick.

The hand shifter was so the po-po could drive with one hand. This setup let them engage the clutch with their foot.

This '40 Coupe was built in 1958 by a young man who went to SE Asia and never returned. Put in shed storage by his father in l962. Taken out in 2006.

Olds engine with Offenhauser log intake with six 97s and mechanical linkage. Hydramatic trans adapted into original shortened torque tube. Nice workmanship for the times.

Body is perfectly straight . . . obviously in great condition when stored. Now covered in surface rust with few rust-outs. . . . bottoms of doors, quarters, rear panel and floors are all being replaced in my home workshop. Will probably leave body in existing condition. RAT 40.

Chassis is heavily rusted, being replaced with good original. Have kept original Olds-engined chassis setup intact for conversation piece.

I think the young man would appreciate if his car was brought back to it's former glory, instead of it being plagued by rust.

    either way...cool car.
