I still have been having to add water so the leak has not stopped yet. Starting to wonder how this company has been around so long

I've had good luck with Mend***e made by Zecol. Shake it up well, warm up the engine, pour it in, put the radiator cap back on and run the engine for 20 minutes or more.

  3. Here's one from the old repair in a pinch book. Sodium Silicate! Or also known as egg preserver. Can be brought at the local pharmacy. I used this in my teen age years and it works great, no kidding. It seeks out cracks or leaks and only changes from liquid to solid when exposed to air. After the leak is stopped, you can drain your radiator and all the excess will come out. I'm sure some of the older guys here have heard of this. Only thing is, never use it with antifreeze or modern engines. Sounds scary, but it works and if your replacing your engine, go for it.

    Get some OEM Nissan antifreeze.

It's their dark-green stuff, not the blue or orange.

It will plug small leaks & is light years ahead of anything at the parts store.

If you mix it with regular antifreeze, it will leak again.

I'm pretty sure the p/n is L248SP, but you will need to check the color (super dark green)

    Mixes with water 50-50

about 50 years ago my brother had a '57 poncho with a cracked head. at the garage down the street the mechanic said, put some k & w block sealer in it. we did and that car never leaked again. we eventually sold it and then seen it again about three years later. asked the guy if it ever leaked and he said no. i have used it on several cars that overheated real bad and never had any problem with them since. what i like about it is, you drain it out and flush it with water after you run it for 30 min or so, then you let it sit over night to let it dry. i had a nova with a hole in the freeze plug the size of a pencil. the water just blew right out of it. i put the k & w in and watched as the water stream spurt a couple times, dribbled a little then stopped completly. good stuff. i have never had any luck with jb weld or barrs leak. i have used pepper in a pinch and it does work for awhile.

I had a crack in a 390 block, right next to the core plug. Cleaning, and JB Weld applied to the inside, set overnight, and it held all the way from Ok City, to Sacramento. My son then drove it to school for another year.

Yesterday I had to drive 39 miles one way to a job and it would heat up and I would add more water. On the way home I was at a gas station. As I was pumping gas I noticed water leaking out. I got under the truck to see and it looks like it is coming from the water pump. I plan to take it off and reseal it today. Maybe the bars leak worked but caused the presure to find a new hole

x2 on the blue devil product. As a last chance before pulling the engine we tried the blue devil in an off topic mack. He is now on his third year and hasn't had any plugging of the radiator, heater core or air compressor, that we would have had to worry about with some of the other products due to their make up.

Like others have said...use sodium silicate. Drain and flush the system. Fill with clean water and sodium silicate or one of the many "ceramic" engine/block sealers. Run it up to operating temp for 20-30 minutes. Turn off the engine, drain the system. Let it sit over night, fill it with anti-freeze and distilled water.

If you have a running leak I would try the blue devil stuff.

My suggestion on Nissan coolant would only fix a seepage problem

  12. I am a toyota tech master tech and our red antifreeze has silicates in it.Will stop or slow mild leaks.
