Technical Base/top coat you like best?

Hey,
So I have been working on the spray chrome process for some pieces and I like the silver I have. Everywhere I turn there is a different idea for base coats and top coats. What do you like? Does it protect your piece out on the road?
-Yeah I checked old threads but I'm looking for what people are doing lately, those don't have recent comments.
