I'm not talking about jamming out to your Monsters of Rock cassette in your 84 Pontiac Grand Prix.

I am wondering about jambing out the door jambs and windshield frt and rear.

I need to jamb it all out so I can have glass installed but I just wondered about burning it in. Should I clear it just for grins? Then wetsand it? I don't want an edge but bc/cc doesn't "melt in" like the old enamels etc. It's gonna be black so color matching is not really a big issue. It'll be close enough I reckon.

    Thanks for all your help

Jam it with single stage Urethane (black) and let the overspray fall over your primer on the body. Install the glass and when your ready to spray the body, sand back the overspray and prep normally for topcoat. Should not leave an edge that way. Best way is to spray the body/jams in one shot with the windows out. Leaves no hard edges that way.

    Interesting.....Thanks.

Oh, one other thing....I wanted to spray the dash as well since the windows are out. Does that change anything?

Root,Base coat 4 or 5" around the windows.Clear coat 2 or 3" around. When it comes time to paint overall, use a little blending agent over any existing clear. Charlie

A trick you can u with soft pliable new(er) window rubber is to tuck a length of electrical wire under the rubber to hold it up when you paint or repaint a car, mask the top of it as usual. that way the new color and clear gets under the rubber so when you pullthe tape and the wire the rubber lays down clean on the fresh aint with no masking lines visible at all.
Gets rid of those tell-tale masking lines.

I suppose you could tie the strings off of Tampax's together and use them too, it's the same idea, use what ya got.

Praise,Blending agent is like a solvent that is used when doing spot panel repair. It is used to transition new paint to existing paint without leaving an overspray line.
