basic ignition, 52 lincoln y block

    I think these are basic ignition questions. Didnt pay much attention to the wiring routing since I got the car until the other day and saw it goes hot---coil---ballast---distributor. Shouldnt the ballast be between the positive and the coil first? Thats how I'm used to it.

    Any idea what ohm rating ballast resistor to use, I was thinking 1ohm. Its a 12v conversion if it makes any difference.

    anyone? I was looking in a motors manual and it did show the ballast first in the 12v version. I didnt do the conversion on this car, maybe I'd be best off going over it as if I was doing one myself.

    Yes, the ballast resistor goes between the ignition + source and the coil.
