   I argued until I was blue in the face with a tech guy at an NHRA meet about which side the ground should be on . He told me he did not know why , but if I wanted to race at his event it would have be on the positive side.

   We used to "test" alternators by disconnecting one battery post. If it stayed running the alternator was presumed "good".
