So , I was finishing up the trunk in my 32 Ford and was trying to figure a way to hide the battery . As when we travel really don't want stuff laying on the battery ! Really didn't want one of those plastic roadster 32 005.JPG roadster 32 010.JPG roadster 32 011.JPG roadster 32 013.JPG roadster 32 018.JPG battery boxes . So this is what I came up with ! Show me your idea what you did on your ride !!!!

I had some metal laying around and thought this would be a good time to roll some flames ,this time going to do them in reverse in stead of raised ! So I did a little painting on it to !

  2. I know a lot of people will disagree but I never make the battery box out of steel. Use wood or fibergl***, something that won't short out if it comes in contact. That's why 99% of aftermarket boxes are plastic. Make it look like a cooler or a tool box, I even saw one that used a small flip top cooler.

You could always put a plastic battery box inside a metal box so it looks like something else.

Sorry forgot to add ,It has over 2 " of clearance. I used side posts and have plastic covers on terminals so there no way of shorting out ! Ty

WP_20140822_002.jpg This is what I came up with for fellow HAMB member sctattooer. The box is made out of 1/2" PVC board.

Plastic battery box inside a tool box. If you find one a little bit wider than you need, you can put tools in there too.

Used a boat battery box bolted to the truck floor with a vinyl cover. IMG_2849.JPG

What about ventilation for the fumes?

Vintage train case, vented underneath - using a Gel Battery.

Sealed top, hole through the bottom with a tube if needed. Not overly complicated.

On the planes that I have moved the battery on, the battery goes in an aluminum box with wood on the sides to prevent shorting out. The battery is vented with a small tube going out of the fuselage. No problems, works great.
