Wondering if anyone is familiar with the so-called battery powered pressure washer that was designed exclusively for military use & now available through special mail order only ? Like so many gimmicky ads, is said to outperform a pressure washer while feeding from a bucket of water ???
Battery operated tools have came a long way in the last few years….but the scammers have came just as far with their false promises of miracles just by using their products. 10 quarts of water ? 2 1/2 gallons ? I don’t care how good it cleans or the battery lasts, that’s basically nothing. I have had both 120 volt electric pressure washers and gas powered as well, both work but gas gets my vote as they usually have more cleaning power and better portability.
Sounds a bit like something a friend bought to be able to clean of the mountainbike after races, before loading it into the car and going home. It kind of did the job, but nowhere near like a real pressure washer. The dirt goes away mostly because it's still wet and doesn't need much persuasion. Left to dry and it'll stay on there.
Agreed with all of the above, it may have its place in the field so to speak where getting the loose stuff off, wishful thinking perhaps I was hoping for some input from a tried & trued user with the real deal earth shaking results to report. I will say I'm not up to speed with the 10 qt. comment, a bucket is refillable or is that the limit of the battery to deliver on a single charge ?
Most electric or gas powered pressure washers turn a triplex pump (1000-3000 psi), which is the key. If it portable like a bag or suitcase size most likely it’s not a triplex and cleaning will be marginal at best.
Hey "designed exclusively for military use" reeks of scam; unless maybe it is referring to the Nigerian military.
I saw that stupid ass ad last night. "it could possibly be banned in the USA...", . I'll bet this thing has the pressure of a typical garden hose with a good nozzle, but the battery is proprietary & probably won't last, and the rest of the construction is likely sub par Chinesium. I bought a cheap corded electric pressure washer from Lowes or Home Depot about 10 years ago, and it still works great now.
Sounds like the better investment would be to buy a used small generator for an electric pressure washer.
But then there are these. Seems as if all battery power tool makers have them. Have no idea how they might work: https://www.acehardware.com/departm...3PykyHeDQ6kTD22PqJcaAp1aEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds
I moved this to antiquated, the traditional hot rod forum is no place for a discussion on modern tools, And I agree with the others, a battery powered 10 quart pressure washer seems like it would be useless
I’ve got a battery Craftsman that connects to a water hose. I like it for my patios, driveway and the vinyl fencing. I also used it to clean the engine compartment of my newer OT truck after trips to El Mirage. It came with 3 nozzles and the pressure isn’t like my electric one and works great for what it’s made for…
Exactly the input I was curious about jimmy six...seems the thread was lost with regards to the 10 qt. comment of which I'm yet to understand, if this might be a viable tool of which I'm doubtful, the siphon hose can be fed in a 10 gal. or any volume container if you so choose, just wondering with tool market improvements if it would help the general Hamb readers as with any battery assisted tool, a drill, flashlight etc.
Most of the name brand battery pressure washers list the ability to pull water from an alternative source if a garden hose is not available. Probably a better choice than a mystery brand promoted in an internet ad.
From my experience and many others I’m sure these TV hipes are just that….for me the maximum satisfaction your going to get is 50% and I’m betting closer to 10% for most of us. I like to think positive but most of the time I’m not. Years ago in Malls there were stores named “As Seen On TV”. I’ve been in a few back then and most was junk… I haven’t been to a mall in 5 years now….
I wonder if a cordless drill could Chuck up on an input shaft of a high pressure water pump ? Then a person would have a portable pressure washer
