Hello guys, any help would be appreciated. I have a 36 Henry Ford dropped I beam axle, 48 spindles with the stock steering arms removed, Speedway batwings and a set of Speedway steering arms as well as a set of Superbell steering arms, both of witch accommodate a 4" dropped axle. My problem is with either pair of steering arms my tie rod hits the batwings on both sides (left and right sides of the axle). The spindle backs are about half an inch from hitting the stops on both sides as well. It looks like the center portion of the batwings is much too far away from the axle. Has anyone else had this problem? Thanks, Jim<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" />

it sounds like you may have the wrong steering arms. speedway, superbell and everybody else makes two different styles of steering arms. a deep drop to be used with a drop axle and a an original wishbone and a shallow drop to be used with hairpins and a dropped axle. if you have the deep drop arms and the batwings, i can assure you they'll hit.
that being said, i have never used speedway suspension parts so i can't tell you for sure. pics would be helpful.
