Did a WHOLE LOT of cleaning in the garage.

With MAJOR help from KRITZ and a couple of my non-HAMB buddies, we hauled out 2(!) 17' U-Haul trucks FULL to THE TOP, of junk. Worked from 11am til 9:30pm, mostly non-stop.

Now all that's left is to organize the crap I decided to keep! [IMG]

  2. saturday i pulled out the front and rear seats plus the carpet and insulation from my 55 4 door. i took a wire wheel to the rust on the floorboards and coated them with a primer that kills rust and allows paint on top.

sunday i got to meet A32Flathead (Dave) and his wife at the strangers show. ran off to the Giants game, had a polish dog, got sunburnt, came home and sprayed a bedliner material over the floorboards. after dinner i went out and bought a Jerry Lee Lewis CD set (2) and washed mom's 99 SS camaro.

OldBeet, You do that yourself? I want to do a patio in my backyard. I have some buddies lined up for the grunt work but the floating technique is what's scaring me. SORRY OT.

On the road (mechanically speaking) by labor day is my goal so I have chipping away at getting all my parts ready for a big push starting next weekend. Had to go for broke on getting parts but I am getting a bunch of new and old stuff back in my garage this week that is going to help me get on the road. Brake lines, flaring tool, bending tool, clutch slave, pedal assembly. Ordered my rear whitewalls from diamond back. Painted my steelies flat black. Picking up my front axle and steering arms that have been machined for Ford ends with new tie rods and kingpins. Hopefully some progress pics will follow next week!

Four days of almost non stop thrashing, aside from the requisite family time.

    Look Ma, no more billet!

JonJon and Dad, without whom this would not be possible.

    Next Steps:
Body has to be raised, cork strips put on frame rails and then the body can be bolted down

Rack still needs shortened. Then the banjo column can be set. Will probably have to get new Borgenson joints cause the geometry is going to be different from the former power rack/billet column combination.

Pulleys, GM alternator, Fan, Radiator. Car needs all wiring still. Needs my stealth guages mounted. Heater mounted. New windshield, wiper motor, floor cut and prepared for Gennie Shifter.

Body: For now... it's done. It will retain it's "barn fresh" look for '04. Fenders have to be finished and will be flat black.

The good old Postal Service treated the carb pretty rough in shipping [IMG], so I have the throttle plate off to do a few repairs.

Anywho, I will be putting the power valve protector in tonight and then I will slap it back together.

Good idea on the tech, I will take a few pictures as I go.

Called a ton of parts stores until I found 1" soft plugs to go in the spindles that cover the kingpins.

Stabbed the 460 back into the late model tow rig.

Working in or under the dash..
    Fab this weekend ,,
I don't have a drill press, so I'm experimenting with with some jingle on the dash..
I've always hated the plastic nob on the cig lighter (other / cell phone recharger outlet) ....
so at the last (Puyallap, wa ) swap meet, a real nice couple from Kenmore donated a handfull of old spark plugs for my project...
    here's how it's taking shape..
Upside.. : looks cool, fits the dash...
Downside: need to fasten better, lock nut IS needed to allow the lighter element to slide into the contact housing.. problem arises when a-fixing the plug to the element unit.
Anyone with an alternate way of connecting/ and or drilling out that sucker..
    Thanx
