Jerry asked for some close ups of the alternator mount I made to put a small Japanese Nippon-denso alternator on my big-block Chev. (and yes, I did say 'alternator', and no, it's not traditional ) So in case anyone else wants to see them, thought I'd post them here ...
Thank you sir! Great to get to meet you at Mokan this year. I like the look of the mount and the wat it gets it down out of the way. jerry
Really clean installation and more important, strong. A lot of mounts that are homegrown don't support the component properly and are subject to vibration cracking. It looks like yours lick the problem nicely. Frank
These guys sell some nice stuff. A lot of racers use it. Not cheap though.. http://www.ecae.com/alt-kits.html
Nice work! Not only does it look clean, it looks sturdy! What's the advantage of the Japanese Nippon-denso alternator? Ed
I think he was just showing how he did his, not marketing them. Make your own and mount it on the p***enger side.
Yes, you can mount an alternator on the p***. side of a BBC, and not have it way outside of the heads. This is the mount I built up for my present '63 Falcon project. Ignore the OT gilmer belt system.
