Anyone have any experiance with the fenderwell exit Big block headers from Speedway? Are they a decent quality, and what other applications other than '37-57? -Jesse
I bought a set of sbc fenderwell dump headers for my 47 Ford. I think they are made by patriot. The quality looks okay, but they don't come close to fitting. I'm glad I bought the bare finish so I can modify them (heavily) to fit.
I ordered a set for a pals BBC/55 Chevy. They are decent quality, some of the welds are a bit lumpy. Dont order em coated or chrome, you may need to tweak them.
I used them on my black magic 55 gasser and on godzillas 55 gasser as well , also used a set and modified em for gasser driver freds 37 coupe, they are heavy gauge and well built, havent had any trouble with them at all, I will by more from them for sure.........
I bought a set. They were pretty heavy duty and well built for the money. Small block fenderwells are twice the price from other companies, I wish Speedway made them, too.
Old thread but the current Speedway fenderwell headers are not the same Patriots as in the past. Round port flanges and tubes slightly altered, also collectors seem a little further back to the untrained guy holding them up. Maybe they'll clear better on tri fives, I know some people complained about collector interference with drivers tire. Speed way brand held for comparison to bolted down Patriots.
