Technical BBC serial number help

I have looked in a lot of places and can't decipher the last 2 on this serial number. I know it's a 67 427 4 bolt main with forged crank and dome pistons. The last 2 are a BJ. Please help. I've been on several sites already.

 

What's the casting number and date code? Is it a tall deck block? More pics would help a lot.

A quick search indicates the suffix is actually "7BJ" and is probably a marine engine.

 

you need to look at the last 3, not the last 2. Starting in 1970, all Chevy engines went to 3 character suffix. The date code is always 4 numbers (on big blocks, at least).

so...search for 7BJ
