   I bought an old barn find Chevy. Complete SS396 4 Speed . While looking for casting and VIN / Suffix codes I found this. The car vin number stamped TWICE on the bellhousing .

   is it also on the front of the block, on the deck surface? I have a 66 396 that has it there.
