be great to Know what was wrong with my last thread

Discussion in 'Questions & Suggestions' started by Rudvirus, Dec 4, 2011.

  1. I started a thread asking a question about a engine there was no
    1. No profanity in subject lines
    2. No political/religious/racial posts
    3. No Porn.
and it gets deleted with no reason why just a link For further guidance go here.

so asking a question is wrong? if so how do we help each other if we have a problem and get advice from others.

  2. Was it on topic? ( pre '64 hot rods and customs)

What was the engine? Maybe you should ask a person in charge (moderators)

Starting a thread about a thread that was deleted is not the way to go. You should/need to PM a moderator and ask why if the link directed to you doesn't clear it up. At the bottom right of the forum page in blue Ryan and Kevin Lee.

In the OP's defense it does't say no Mustangs or VW's in the sticky of the introduction page, but it does in the sticky of the classifids. Maybe that could be added to the sticky in the intro section as well as the NO R-- R--s paragraph...just a thought.

Was yours the VW motor question? They usually don't go over well here...this is the home of Traditional Hot Rods...
    Just sayin'...

  9. sorry I forgot to add that it was about a VW engine and making it work in reverse and if it can how do you do it. What were doing it getting the engine and putting it forward of the rear axle instead of the location that they are in a bug

  10. Thats why. No VW's here....TONS of forums on the web for them already

That would be your answer, this isn't a VW forum, so your question would be considered off topic.

It seems that most of the rules are vague and unpublished. So I guess the only thing a guy can do is post and see wait what happens. One thing that seems strange, Ryan says something about the site is for the guy with some tools and a dream. What he fails to mention (anywhere) is the dream has to be about American Iron (mostly) made before 1964 (mostly).

    Strange.

Actually, not strange at all. All the answers await you, and anyone else who wishes to read them, under the "FAQ" banner at the top all pages. And, I absolutely realize that this next is a skill...ability...that is lost on many folks, but common sense goes a long way.
A VW discussion here? Uh, not really appropriate for the H.A.M.B. You do know that this is a traditonal hot rod and custom website, right?
And, as mentioned above, even this thread is kinda lame. Lick your wounds and join us.....or Auf Weidersehen.

Might I also suggest DOGFIGHTmag.com if you're modding VWs? I have a lot of fun over there and I think VWs are OK there.
    Full of cool go-fast stuff!
