This is like a perfect stranger coming up to you and asking how much money is invested in your car. Nunya****inbusiness !
Why in the hell are you concerned as to why people have things to trade instead of buy in the cl***ifieds.
Sounds to me you like to categorize people based on their income not their ablilities or personality. nunya!

    Cob,

Actually, the board changed in April 2001. Everybodies post count and register date got deleted. Ryan has gone back and changed some of the real old timers. But that's not the point. I was just trying to give you some "old HAMB".

The new HAMB is really much better, when you think about it. It was fun back then, but this is still better.

And to the rest of the readers of this, sorry for the bad words. I next to never type like that. And for the record, I have no physical proof the Cob is a ********er. That is all hersay and rumors. ;)

    Hey Pete,
actually I'm ****ing jealous of some of the abilities of some of you guys have with turning piles of metal into really cool ****.
I wish I had some of that talent.
It doesn't mean a hill of beans how much anyone has for money.
    really it doesn't.

I though it I'ld post it out as conversation.
Car funds . B.S. like that.

I knew I'ld stir the pot.
    Some had fun with it.
    Some took offense.
    O.K.
nobody has to reply if they don't want.
    No big deal.
I thought I'ld get a rough post going and get reponses.

    KCSLEDS answer was the best.
    Thanks K.C.

I'd like to knock up Britney Murphy, the way she applies her lipstick looks like she's been smoking the pole all morning.
I bet she's dirtier than the dumpster behind Mister ****'s Oriental Bar B Q in Little Saigon.

    Hey T-Man,
    How ya been.
Actually if you look at Buzzards reply a little further down he posted a sorry about that deal and its cool.

Actually the **** part doesn't bother me.
I asked a loaded question knowing damn well some would have fun and some would tell me to eat ****.

My mother told me I was born with thick skin. She ought to know.

Some people I guess took it as how much money do you have as in litterly.
I meant as a car fund / play money etc.
most said why does it matter.
I just through it out there for response to have some fun.
Loaded questions get you the biggest laugh or it raises the hair on everyones neck.
    My post did both.
a little old with a little new.
    kinda like Hot rods Huh.
    take it easy T-man.

for once, I agree with Nads

  13. Never discuss religion, politics or money with anybody you want to continue to be friendly with.

Maybe if the question was more like, What kind of money (***uming you had the $$) would you be willing to spend to get your dream car? Like if a complete, rust free 32 3W body shows up, how much would you be willing to spend to get it?

I'm guessing it would be different in each case, what would be considered your dream car... if your dream car is a '87 Plymouth K-car, you'd only be looking to spend about $35.

I'm Broke - I had to get my Grandfather to front me a little cash for a project car I just closed a deal on this past weekend. That and if the wife found out I spent my own money on a rod - she'd kill me at this point ;)

Well - I should change the answer - I'm broke as far as money that I can spend on a car right now.

Just gotta go pick the car up!

Honestly, I once took out a loan for $1500 to buy a '61 Caddy. The bank axctually gave it to me, it established my credit.

If I had $5000, or $10,000 or $15,000 I SURE wouldnt use it to buy a nice car!!! I would use it to buy lots of JUNKERS and PARTS

  24. I NEVER have over about $500 to spend on any one thing.

I do side jobs and build cars for people to make my hot rod money.

I keep a separate account for all my car money... but usually spend it as fast as I make it.

But like the F-100 I just bought for $1000... I didn't have that much in my car account, so I had to borrow the money from our equity line to buy it.

Then, when I parted out my other F-100... I paid most of it back.

I also have to say that my household account is drained completely at the end of every month, and unfortunately due to the high cost of housing, we do not have a savings account.

The only saving grace is the rising cost of housing... we have about 250k in equity... but that is only good if we sell.

I also know guys who SAY they don't have any car money... but yet they put money in all sorts of savings accounts, retirement funds, kids college accounts and have carry over in their families checking account every month.

Someone once told me that people who have a lot of money... have a lot of money because they don't spend their money... makes sense, but I'd rather have a bunch of hot rod **** that a fat bank account.

    Sam.

I've got about $1500 in my '57 Plymouth - and nearly half that was to get it here from Florida! If that tells you anything about my car money...

  27. Money....I think I had some once....but it may just have been a dream!

I have less than $600 in the Plymouth so far (including buying it) and am having trouble finding another couple of hundred to finish it!!

    Oh well....when I win the lottery......

  28. Well if you want total honesty when I decided to buy the roadster body from Alex (250.00) I had no idea in the world where the money was going to come from. But true to form my equally broke HAMB brothers came to the rescue.

That's the life of a Porkn******.

But here's an interesting side note:

I recently bought something that I couldn't live without from a fellow HAMBer.
I sold some extra stuff (most of which I bought here) to pay for the purchase.
The guy I bought the stuff from sent to money to another HAMBer to pay for something he bought. The other HAMBer was then able to pay a guy he owed some money to who it turns out is the guy who bought the stuff that I sold to pay for the stuff that I bought.

I don't doubt that there are some real high roller here. But, the real question is not who has any money, but how much actually gets sold, or does it just make a big circle.;)
