This is a short video that Steve at StevesProMetal did. Very interesting to see what a talented guy can do without a bead roller in a short time. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CASaBvJtiAI&feature=youtu.be
I actually met Steve at his shop, I had picked up a Hemi over by Pittsburgh and stopped by his shop on the way home. He was in Danville at the time, very talented/ He was doing a Willys panel among other things at the time.
Yes, extremely talented, and a great guy! Still in Danville, Pa. He's building a '55 gasser for a customer now, and all the interior metal will be left bare to show the metal work. This picture is from his build thread on Gasserhotrods.com
I call that hammerforming. You can get amazing results with simple hand tools. This was done with an aluminum form, and of course is a more complicated shape. First part I ever did.
I have used this technique in the past,,but not near as in depth as Steve's meticulous way of accomplishing a certain look. Mine were using a simple round stock and transforming a piece of metal that would never be seen once the car was finished. This man is a true craftsman and it would almost be a sin to hide his work. Thank you for posting,I have defiantly learned something today. HRP
