I've been thinking of installing power bear claw latches but I can't find power double jaw latches. Everything I've found are single jaw and I'm not sure they're as good. Anyone have any thoughts? Thanks

I put the power double jaw Bear Claws on my 49 Buick. Unfortunately I bought them years ago and don't remember where I bought them.

Thanks @X38 and @Tman. My large size latches have the two catch arms that grab the striker bolt. They are not power latches in the sense they have internal solenoid, but a simple external solenoid that has 2-3 lbs is all that is required to operate the release lever. This is what most people do for entering the vehicle from the outside. You can use a remote entry kit, or a hidden switch, or even a key switch in the original key lock hole sometimes. The solenoid just needs to pull the correct direction on the release lever. Here is a link to the kit with the latches and the install kit plates, but I also sell the latches by themselves:
    http://www.hotrodlatches.com/Large_Latch_Installation_Kit_p/large-latch-install-kit.htm

BTW, my small size latches with the single catch arm, and the large size with two catch arms, both meet the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Std (FMVSS) for strength requirements for new car door latches. So either can work, but I typically recommend the large size if you have the room as the two catch arms will help pop the door open better since each catch arm has a spring. Whereas the small size single catch arm only has the one spring.

Feel free to PM me with any questions, thanks, Terry

I have purchased these before. They are the real deal. Way better than some on the market.

We ordered these , didn’t realise they were so small . They would be perfect for holding down a lunch box lid . The next set we bought local from a trusted supplier that were substantially bigger and up to the task . 26E23C02-5B94-45E0-B2C6-119FF28AD24A.jpeg

I also sell a similar latch, I call it the micro size. It is not FMVSS approved for door latches. It is an improvement over some very old stock latches, but I do not recommend that size for doors. It is a good choice for a trunk lid or even a hood. But ALWAYS have a second safety latch on any hood. Don't rely on just one latch.

Another consideration for any door latches purchase is to consider country of manufacturing. As many know with aftermarket parts, Chinese quality can be an issue. Because of this, all my parts are 100% made in USA. After 12 years of selling the latches, with over 3000 sets, I have never had any return for quality problem. Sorry for the slight tangent, but trying to provide useful information, although I obviously have a biased opinion. Please take door latches seriously as they are an important part of your car safety and performance.

Space inside the cabriolet door with the window installed is a very big consideration.
