Congrats Groucho! That's a dream come true.

Now go buy a dozen random Hot Rods from the 50's-today and display them all on the wall, with yours up there as well!

Congrats man. I can't wait till my issue arrives. I can already hear my dad telling me about wanting to find a 56 ford to put an axle under it.

This issue hasn't reached my local B&N yet, either. They've still got the '60s NASCAR redux issue.

Hadn't seen that one yet. Pretty damn cool. Yes, yes yes. . . .

  15. Slightly expanded quarter panels to fit 8" rim and 9" tires. 355 cu. in. 4bolt, 11:1 comp (runs pump gas with a too big Speed Pro cam), Dart II iron heads, roller rockers, points ign, Victor Jr, and an 800 DP Holley. Cheapie motor from parts laying around. Good motor to be long rod (6") 400 small block with AFR alum heads, vintage C3B-X intake and Moon Valve covers so it packs a punch with a vintage look. 3:55 Posi, and a close ratio Muncie. Oh yeah, i'll be wanting a wide ratio Muncie so my 3:55's will feel like 4:11's in the lower gears. THIS is especially needed with the overcammed "small" motor in it now. Anyone?

Yeah, you'll probably like the wide ratio. A buddy of mine used to run a 72 Z28 with a similar motor setup, a 3.73 12 bolt, and a wide ratio m21. That damned car ran like a scalded dog, and pulled hard all the way to 140mph. The tranny was perfect.

i saw your car at the long beach performance swap on sunday, and i have to say that pictures really dont do your car justice. it is the most badass vette i have ever seen. gotta ask about the For Sale sign i saw on it, please say it aint so!?

  18. Did you notice the price? It's my way of saying it's "NOT" for sale. All morning i was being bothered to sell it, so i borrowed the sign from a friend and put a rediculous price on it. It was like turning the lights on a bunch of roaches. FUNNY! But "NO" the car's NOT for sale. Thanks for the compliments. I just drove it to L.B. for the fun of it.

Hey Groucho- Good to meet you out at Memory Lane a few months ago, and thanks for taking the time with us for the big photo shoot day. There was a ton of great cover shots to pick from that day, but the two-shot of the Vette and '55 were just so right we couldn't pass it up. I got a lot of heat for it internally. Let's hope the issue sells so we can do it again. Last year I got roasted for the retro cover with the S-W-C Willys and it was the third best seller of the year. We'll see if the Vette can pull just as hard.

    Now that is funny. :D

Say Freiburger, tell the bean-counters that one subscriber had been putting off renewing his subscription until he saw this thread. You're doing a great job with HOT ROD- keep it up!

Thats a great lookin ride. Congrats...

If you wouldn't mind gould you tell me if you can still get the mesh you have on the front of the car? I had to cut a couple of holes in the front of my car to keep the motor cool and was looking for just the right stuff. When I picked up my rag from the mail box and saw your car on the cover I had found what I was lookin for.

    Thanks

    Kevin

I thought that was you, I was reading the rundown about the car and they mentioned "Groucho" and thought, damn I wonder if that's the same guy...way cool that you got not only into the mag by the co-cover shot as well...
