well guys the 36 coupe is finally back from paint and i couldnt be any happier, i have been working on it since the beginning of summer. some of you probably recognize the car as it has been around for quite some time, although in a much more confused half way done form. i had always thought the car had a lot of potential and when i saw it for sale i just couldnt fight the urge to buy it and make it right. i thought it would be a quick job but it such was not the case, i t needed a lot more body work and tweaking than expected. but here it is, stance adjustment, shaved tail lights, shaved spare, black vinyl top, smoothed running boards (i still want to put the rubber mats on), some flipper caps, lots of miscellaneous little things, and a whole lot of blocking done by the painter. also took off the can of worms 6x2 manifold (only running middle 2) and replaced it with a more correct looking 3x2 offy unit.

    enough rambling

    pics pics pics.

and of course the reason why we call this car Beatlejuice . . . . :D

sorry about not getting a good side profile shot, my camera took a S@#t on me. it does have a slight reverse rake now, not as much as i would like but enough to give it that Kustom look.

i cant find any old pics of the car, but it used to have the same tuck n' roll job on the running boards and the roof insert

    Super damn cool!

But, does the grill look upside down to anyone else?

I'm in no way bashing the car; in fact I love it. It's just that the v'd bars seem to point up. If they were level or went down, the car would be perfect.

    Just a constructive observation.

Kirk I was thinking the same thing. Thats really the only thing I see thats not right on. I also think it would look better with twice the amount of bars.

    Other than that its awesome.

you are correct, but i didnt do it. i think he was trying to go for something different, that or he was high. it actually follows the curve of the 36 grill pretty well though. at any rate it doesnt look bad in person.

I sure wouldn't kick it out of my garage. Hint, hint.

  17. WOW Eric. It came out really nice! The hood lines up much better now. Has a real sleek look to it. I hate to see you sell it.
Are you bringing it to breakfast tomorrow?

haha, well it will probably be looking for a new owner soon. . . . hint, hint ;)

unfortunately a lot sooner than i would like. i want to focus on getting the Hudson painted and finished, and i cant afford to do that unless i sell the 36. oh well cant keep them all.

if i could have afforded to paint it shiny i would have, i deserves to be. im hoping the next owner will be willing to take it that extra mile. still looks 100% better than it did. hopefully some one has some pictures of what it used to look like, i cant find mine.

thanks for all of the compliments guys, but really i give a lot of credit to the guys that painted it and did all of the blocking, they really did do an amazing job.
