Which Barris did tons of. I’ve seen George come out with some pretty ugly stuff for a movie or tv show. Don’t think this thing would be to far out of bounds. Though it doesn’t really have his flair to it

You're joking I hope. The hippo with the hydraulic poots looks better! That whateveritis is only good for two things...if a guy wants a divorce or to put on the property line of a neighbor you hate.

We were there on Thursday, walked down the line of “Barris” cars, and I did not see that little beauty. Thankfully. We did see the Monkees car and the Mark 5, I had to explain both to my 20-year old!

If the purchaser didn't have to pay too much to the dump to get rid of the body, he may have been able to get that much in parts.

  8. i really think the color is what is throwing off the look. @themoose , i bet a charcoal black with the edges sprayed a silver or bronze would give it a stealthy Nemo's Nautilus look. dark silver, and covered with rivets?

$3500 is probably dirt cheap for a good '64 Corvette chassis, if that is indeed what is under it, and assuming it's mostly intact. The body might make a neat art/display piece of some kind.

They said it was "stored" for 25 years. They should have said that it was hidden to protect the public.
I can't comprehend who or why it was made.

"Squawblow" - It looks like you and I are the only ones who see this for what it really is. There are a LOT of C2 Corvettes out there with rusty, rotted frames. Seeing that this one has been sitting in storage for 25 years means it will probably make a good donor for one of those cars. I can't believe that anyone would be interested in it for any other purpose. I see good used '64 frames in the 5-7K range and new reproductions are available for more. Looks like somebody got a good deal.

If it did go in the $3000 range back a few years ago I would have been a bidder as it does have some value (I have told myself I am done buying so it would have to have been when I was a buyer supposedly). Even though it had some effort put into it I believe it is an absolute mess. Not only does the frame have value but it may have other parts of value as well. The body would have to be removed and sold or scrapped (not all old customs are worthy of saving). In today's society the titles to old Vettes also have value for obvious reasons. It really does hurt the eyes to study this mess.

I always thought the purpose of customization was to improve the looks of the base car.
