Hello Everyone, I haven't been here awhile so I consider myself a newbie. My last post I was working on a '37 Chevrolet Master DeLuxe 4 dr. Sedan. I really had all the good intensions of building a street rod but the trials and tribulations of family took priority. That particular car is gone but another of the same model and age has replaced it, which is a real nice driver. This particular project/car may not fit the the category of the H.A.M.B. as I plan to keep it stock for sentimental reasons of family. I do belong to the VCCA because of the restoration info that I need and I'm hoping to acquire recyclable parts for my car from those who are building there dream car and have parts they don't need because of body and drive line up-grades. Dave
Hello ColinCs, The "new" car is the pic in my avatar, if it's not showing let me know. I'll need the help of my wife, to post more pics. I had driven the car all last summer but late October/early November it developed a rough idle and a noise in the clutch/trans. The rough idle was a bad exhaust valve in the #4 cylinder and the clutch/trans noise is a damaged oil slinger in front of the trans. I removed the nose to get at the head easier and not have to lift it over the fenders. I removed the engine to clean up 75+ years of road grime and sludge from the frame and found the right engine mount was broken and had punched a hole thru the frame where the lower bolt held it to the frame. That is in the process of being repaired along with other rot damage where the front bumper brackets attach to the frame.
Thank you Rustednutz, I don't think I'll have much to contribute, but I do love hotrods of all types. I have a '27 "T' body ( a "new" fibergl*** body) that I acquired as payment for labor 20 years ago. But family took priority and so funds were lacking to pursue parts for it. With the family grown up and on their own, I'll try to acquire parts for it. But for now, the '37 Chevrolet that I have will fill that spot. Dave
