Thanks Dad! I got from this grey beard;) Supposedly it was on a blown 31 A roadster that he took his wife "(then girl friend) on their 2nd date. Too cool.

So I have been letting myself get more distracted from the fordor while I was waiting to get to Spokane to get my reversed eye spring from Chris. Hopefully this weekend I can get it swapped out and get some suspension in the back! While I was at Chris' shop, he was nice enough to let me talk him out of a *****in gauge panel for the someday roadster. It turns out that a old temp gauge I had gotten from him a few years back bolts right in:D
I also decided the someday roadster was going to get a hemi...I have been stashing this 270 dodge for 20 years...My old man gave it to me when I was 14...thanks dad!! So I dug it out of my secret stash an brought it home. My dad decided I needed his old Cragar adapter more than he...( I begged and pleaded with him that I had to have it and that it was going to a good home:D) He nicely agreed and I told him he can drive it anytime...(when it actually runs). This is probably my favorite part of a project...the hunt for parts.
    Enjoy the pics!

Not to much has been happening on the ol sedan. I have been driving it around a little.
Been playing with the carbs and tuning. I lowered my fuel pressure to just under 2 pounds and the 97's seem to be finally happy. I added 2 leaves to the rear spring so it rides sooo much better. It sits a little high, but I'm hoping it will settle some. Just a couple more bugs to work out and then I will get back on the metal work.

In the next few weeks, I'm going to start to finish up the metal work on the chop. My delema is this, part of me wants to take just alittle bit more out of the roof before I get it all welded up. What do you think. I'm thinking 3/4" to an 1". Here is photoshop chop and current chop.

I like the lower of the two.
    I've got a Fordor body with a 3 1/2" chop, and I wish it were 4 1/2"
    My $.02.

I'd leave it. Lowering the lid anymore accents the visual length of that body style.

I think it looks good the way it is and wouldn't be worth the extra work to take anymore off.
What is it now, 3 1/2" or 4"?

Mines chopped just 2" and I'd like it chopped more but it isn't worth it to do it over.

    I think that's perfect!

I was wondering what your thoughts were on the final color and finish of the body, because that might change the look of
    the chop too.

And another question, what are those cool oval pedal pads from? I'd love to use some of those in the future if I could find a set.
You have all the cool stuff!

I'm torn on color. Part of me wants to leave in red oxide. Another part of me wants it bright yellow... and part of me wants it black like my original fordor that I built when I was in high school.

Thanks:D The pads are NOS 30's/40's/50's replacement pads for the 32 ford style pedals. I can snap a pic of the original box and post it. Got them on epay a few years ago.

Leave the chop as is...looks great. Your someday roadster is right on target for me. My stash has been waiting for several years but the fire is still burning for the roadster. Keep the photos coming for us old guys.

Thanks for the pics and info! I'll start looking and see if I can get lucky.

I don't know if you remember but I bought that Tudor sedan body from your Dad four years ago and I thought I remembered seeing a Fordor in the shop in Billings. Is your Fordor the same one or was that a different one? Or am I imagining things?

Your Dad's old Tudor on the way back.

Its the same fordor. I was wondering if you were guy that got that old sedan. I actually worked out a deal with my dad for the frame that was under that tudor to use on my fordor. Did you ever do anything with that sedan?

I thought that looked like the same body and the same color on it. I sold the Tudor body along with my '57 Nomad and my old blue '32 roadster after I moved all my cars to Prescott last August (which had one of your Dad's frames from 1997 under it). I had to cut back on my inventory due a lack of room for everything and a lack of funds to build my workshop/garage. I still would like to have a Tudor but I really want to get my Fordor built after following your build thread.

PS: I found those pedal pads are still on Ebay and got a set. Thanks!

Can't wait to see your build tread on your fordor when you get started. What style are you going to go with on yours? Engine, wheels, etc

I had originally planned to build it full fendered with dual side mount spares to look like a 1930's gangster car but since the only extra frame I have left is set up for a highboy so I am going to go with that. After seeing your build thread it was an easy decision to make. I also saw this Fordor that's from New Zealand that was on the Kiwi Deuce Day thread and that is the general color and look that I want. I need a comfortable and reliable cruiser for long distance traveling so I'll go with the old reliable SBC, 700R4 and a 9" rear. Since I'm down here in the sunny and hot southwest I'll put a Vintage Air unit I have in it to keep the wife cool and smiling. I also have a little Burro travel trailer to pull with it so it will need a hitch on the back and a 14 gallon gas tank. It will be a collection of left over parts and pieces I have to keep it affordable. Although I'm still in the middle of building my work shop and moving the rest of my stuff down from South Dakota I need to get my Brookville roadster project done first for next years LARS and then hopefully I can get started on the Fordor next.
