Not too much car talk, it's just I wanted to post something, it's been a while... I've got the floors cut out of the '38, and have a new crossmember welded in to reconnect the B-pillar doorposts. It's 1x2 thickwall, so I'll have a place to mount seats, seatbelts, and it'll be strong enough if I decide to carson/phaeton it. Rest of the floor's subframe will be 3/4" square tubing. I've got both B-pillar to rear pieces shaped, and one welded, but haven't finished the second one. I've been taking progress pictures, and was wanting to finish all of it before posting, but I hit a snag... I was at the beach with the family, riding a boogie board, when I got up from a ride and had zero strength, almost felt like I was going to pass out, or something. Had to rest in the 40 feet to shore, just too tired. Recovered in a few minutes, figured it was medication and going in too soon after eating lunch or something, and blew it off. Couple days later, I noticed I was winded when I hadn't done enough to be, and felt like somebody had hit me a little bit in the left collarbone...that'll make you call a doctor! Doctor saw me, did EKG's, said everything looked great, but, let's go ahead and do a stress test. I failed that miserably, so, two Fridays ago, I had a heart catheterization, and everything was OK except the one spot with 95% blockage. They kept me over the weekend, transferred me to THE heart hospital around here, and they recathed and put in stents the next Monday. Heart doctor said I was lucky: no heart attack, no damage, and they caught it in time. Regular doctor said blockage in that artery is a widowmaker...if it'd blocked, I wouldn't be here...I'm calling that "I win again!" I'm tightening up on food and exercise, but, truth to tell, I don't think I was that out of shape, and I'm only 38!!! I'm still getting strength back, then I've got to catch up on all the chores that have accumulated, then I can get back on the '38. I realize I'm very lucky, but, man, it sure slows ya down! Guess I just wanted to share with the "car guys" I know...thanks for listening to me whine! Steve
