Hello all. Just joined up yesterday. Short background. Have been around hot rods all my life. Dad use to take me to the junkyard with him in my punkin' seat, put me on the front seat as he wrenched, cut, or beat out parts. I got old enough to walk and swing a hammer. Yard owner would give me a ball peen and tell me to break headlights. Not good ones mind you, but cracked or chipped ones. Made yardin' with Dad tons of fun. a nickel a light the old boy would pay. A dollar would be made in short time. Fast forward... 1983. First car bought at thirteen. Backyard find, 47 Ford coupe, driving age approaching soon. Mostly built out of yard parts. Sixteen hit and it was a finished runner. Drove through high school plus a few years. Sold it. Picked up a 33 chevy 5-window coupe, barn find, worked with it for awhile. Cars became very boring. Same everywhere we went. All would get together, and sit around and do... nothing. Needed action. I was in my twenties, discovered Harley's. Oh let the fun begin!!! Comming up on forty now, picked up a 48 chevy truck. Still have the coupe and the bike, but getting back to my roots, so I can dive back into the coupe with excitment again. The truck is a reintroduction for me into what makes this fun again. Just build it, drive it, dam the torpedos! Thanks for creating this board and starting the fires back up! I hope I can be a good addition to the community.
