oooh... I'd like to run a mild mannered Ram Air 4 -4 speed-4:56 and slicks GTO couple of times in the quarter. don't even worry about breaking parts, got 3 more cars just like it.

I'd just like to have one old car that isn't a pile of crap and I'd like it to have an honest to god paint job on it, you know, the kind of paint job that light actually bounces off of.

    1. Attend Bonneville Speed Week (as a participant)
    2. Then drive the same car to HAMB Drags
    3. Then travel to Chicago and do the whole of Route 66 East to West
    4. Then turn around and do it in the other direction so I get to see both sides of the road!
    5. Have a Hemi powered car (don't care what)
    6. Bring an E49 Charger (Aussie 6 cyl, triple Weber, Factory car) to the States and spend 6 months cruising all over in it.
    7. Finish my flathead 6 Model A Roadster
    8. Do all of the above with my wife
    9. Meet as many HAMBers as I can
    10. Die in my sleep at the ripe old age of 100

    Yeah, that about covers it.

  7. ...OK...what a great thread!

1)Drive a blown fuel roadster at Bonneville and join the 200 MPH club.
2)Ride a Harley-powered bike flat out over The Salt.
3)Win Best-Of-Show at the Mopar Nats(or at Carlisle) with my '64 Plymouth(in my dreams) Belvedere Max Wedge, and then proceed to give the judges a coronary by firing that beast up and doing a burnout away from the award presentation area.
    4) Learn to fly a P-38 or other WWII warbird. Problem there is,I'd check to see if the guns work, and that they're loaded, and then go strafe my second ex-wife's residence-which I unknowingly paid for. Get some return(albeit psychologically) on my "investment".
5)Become the REAL car czar and force the Big Three to build 32 3Ws and '50 Mercs and '62-64 B-Bodies and '56 Nomads and '53 Skylarks and,and,and...

...and bring back Sunoco 260. At 99-9/10 cents per gallon. On every corner.

Before I die, I want to...........................

instill in my son a love and passion for traditional cars by building some of my dreams with him. He's six, so of course the education has begun.

    Easy ones!

1.) Attend Bonneville. Preferably as a participant.
2.) Make a 7 second 1/4 mile pass (should happen this weekend in my old man's RED).
3.) Drive a truly faster (<10.00) stick shift drag car.
4.) Make 10 laps in a sprint car.
5.) Cross country cruise in a hot rod.

    That'll do it for me.

  16. My bucket list includes owning a roadster, driving my Merc. down all of route 66, taking my kids on a month long "out west" tour of national parks in an old Airstream, see Bonneville, see the Grand National Roadster show, take a train ride acorss all of northern Canada, own a old slingshot dragster, go drag racing (actually driving) and for the no way in hell it will ever happen....get a ride in a fighter jet......However, my life is pretty damn good now and if none of these things happen I'll still have lived a kickass life!!!!

I know this is weird but here goes: I want to have a bone stock looking 50s-60s Chevy, with a 600hp plus engine/ 4 speed/posi. Then I want to pull up to a stop light with a cop car right beside me. Just before the light turns green, I would reach down and flip the switch on the electric exhaust dumps. When the light turns green, drop the clutch, and smoke the tires for about a block. WOT thru the gears then pull over and wait for them to catch up. Our local force has no sense of humor. It might help if I didn't have anything important planned for the next few days. Oh, the small things in life!!!!!

    1) Have a car where the gas gauge actually works properly
    2) Have a bad ass Model A Hot Rod
    3) Have a LARGE garage with a few cool cars (that all run)
    4) to be able to make a living buying and selling old cars & memorabilia (fat chance)
    5) Just to have things run smoothly and quit being a hassle

  24. Make a pass in a front motored '70's Top Fueler. I had the chance back in the day, and didn't go for it. The boot marks on my arse will never go away.

    Build a decent sized garage.
Get my Essex rebuilt so I can actually DRIVE the damn thing long distances.
Drive it to Bonneville for Speed Week.
Drive it to the HAMB Drags.
    Drive it to the Roundup.
Drive it to an even, any event, in S. California.
Drive it from one side of Canada to the other.
    Etc.
    Etc.
    Etc.

You can't run with the big dogs if you stay on the porch.

so, get of the efffing porch and DO IT. Most of these dreams (still want that ferrari, pete?) are within reach.

Here's my wish: I don't want to hear that so-and-so has cancer/tumor/any illness and can't go to Bonneville/Indy/dirt track or whatever.

Right before you start making plans to make a dream come true, go and give "whoever" a big hug or chuck on the shoulder because she/they make it possible for you to do whatever. Life is short.

Today is my last day of vacation, I'm going to finish cleaning the garage so I can play![IMG]
