Im very lucky and have built many cool cars and competed in a bunch of different motorsports. Sometimes at the cost of time and stuff for my family, their very understanding. For starters of things left on my list:
    Go 100mph with a 28 Chevy 4 at Boneyville in a V4 roadster.
Ride a real methenol burning speedway bike on cinders.
Do a few laps in an Offy powerd vintage midget.
Earn an Ironbutt certificate on my Harley
Build something special for each of my kids.
Finish and enjoy my antique wooden speedboat that I resued from a dump not long ago but searched for years for.

Its amazing how many post say Bonneville and El Mirage. One of my wishes was to build my own machine and set a land speed record with it. I built my sidecar outfit and set a record at El Mirage in Sept. 122.240. Years ago I was told "Wish in one hand and shit in the other and see what you get first."

    Don't wish, do it.

Before the good Lord decides to remove me from this earth and rise me up to the wide 'n' wonderful super highway (with no speed limits) located in the sky, there is something I'd like to see... I'd like to see some genuine peace and harmony established in the hot rodding and motorsport community, harmony among ourselves... It seems like so many car people (especially on the internet) just can't seem to get along with each other... Sure, it's alright to not always agree with each other, that's understandable, but too often, we see grown men acting like babies, conducting themselves in such an immature manner that it almost makes you ashame to even be associated with the car scene--- If I could see all the childish "Village People-esque" "macho posturing", which is obviously no more than a front for some, simply an attempt to hide their deep sense of insecurity, aw h*ck, if I could just see some of that mindless buffoonery come to an end before our holy and masterful God finally decides to yank me up to his drag racing pit in the vast heavens, that would be just g*sh swell with me... As auto enthusiasts, we need to come together in unity, especially with the huge and powerful "go green" movement threatening our very existence... It's time to stop acting like kindergarten babies and grow up for some-- it's time that all people involved in hot rodding and motorsports realize that if we don't all come together in unity soon, the "go green" movement will gladly take advantage of all the childish discourse that exists between us and then take away our hot rods for good, h*ck, they'll create legislation to put an end to hot rodding forever!-- Don't think for one minute that they aren't capable of doing that-- Don't ya kid yourself!-- They'd move mountains to stop us auto enthusiasts from enjoying our hobby-- And that my friends, is something I hope none of us will ever have to see happen in our lifetime!!... Before the Lord hoists me up to the big "press booth" in the sky, I'd like to see everyone involved with fast cars, that means the drag racers, the roundy round gang and the many hot rodders across this globe come together, and work together in harmony and UNITY-- We need to stick together and work as a team-- It's the ONLY way we can insure that the hobby of hot rodding will endure for future generations to come... "The Doc" (Celebrity Drag Racing Authority & Visionary)...

Build traditional rods for a living in my own shop, Build a Kustom, and a fast Model A coupe. That would be enough to make me happy.

  15. 1. Most important, before either my dad or I die, I have to get a '49 Studebaker half ton pickup, Clover Green, just like his father owned on the dairy farm, and drive around his old haunts with him. We'll do some weekend warrior trips to the garden center, lumberyard, feed store, etc. Constantly looking for that truck.
    2. Thanks to Ken Burns, I gotta take something dead reliable and drive though all the national parks, and stay at the grand lodges. Throw in Monument Valley, too.
    3. Finish the small annoying stuff on the Merc.
    4. Witness Speed Week.
    5. El Mirage.
    6. Lone Star Roundup.
    7. Drive the Pacific Coast Highway.
    8. Build a bigger garage, learn to weld, etc.
    9. Build something automotive: traditional, with a custom twist.

hotrodladycrusr, I just wanted to take a brief moment to thank you for your excellent editing of my earlier post... This is really a friendly place, nobody has ever done that for me anywheres else, this is truly a groovy board... And it's also great that this is a "gal friendly" board... A refreshing change from the "wife beater" mentality that's so prominent elsewhere... I'm also thankful to those who responded via privately to my post on this particular thread, and went out of their way to be both hospitable and welcoming, and I'm flattered and humbled by how many know me from the interviews I do for Drag Racing Underground (and my Big Stick gig)... It really is refreshing to have a place like this where childish cyber "drama" takes the back seat, and true love for hot rodding and gearhead culture sits up front and drives us all to friendly and civil discussion... We all love cars and that is something we do in unity... Thanks again!!... "The Doc" (Celebrity Drag Racing Authority & Visionary)...

For my wedding present my wife got me a ride in the Richard Petty Driving Experience at Walt Disney World. Now I want to build a stock car of any type and drive in a race, don't care how I finish. Want to drive a front engine dragster. I've met most of my car heroes so I would have to say Don Garlits, Don Prudomme, Richard Petty. I want to build the car I was warned by the police not build, not HAMB but it is bad ass. I want to drive a 1957 Chevy, anywhere. See the Daytona 500 live and in person.
