Such a cool Thread...before you carry the Torch visit those that were before us to appreciate what it was...

2 summers ago I was at a Cruise...I was wandering the show making my way back to the Ole Hotrod and there was an Older fella in a Wheelchair having reflection Looking it over...he mentioned something about the engine...Can't recall what it was but I knew he had a connection to Go Fast and I would ask about it...Turned out he raced in the 50s and 60's in a 32 Ford 3w in Eastern Ontario...

Over in this region it's truly rare to see Hotrods that look the 50s and 60s so I'm proud to share the past...meeting those that lived it priceless...I still want to reconnect with this Fella as he had pics...can you imagine...

 

@SUHRsc, I hope this meets you with Bill still enjoying that Ole Hotrod...that's the one in Muroc?...awesome lineage...that windshield sticker is eerily a reminder of the Big One...He must have made it back from the Hell of War...Thanks for your service an I extend that to all Vets...

 

I think this is related to this thread. Where did the term “drag racing” come from? The way that roads were built long ago was with a machine called a drag line. Over time, the Main Street in town was called the main drag.
