I've had one to many close calls recently with clueless dingbats pulling on front of me doing 15 plus under the speed limit in my daily driver. I already have 130db horn in place and I'm really thinking about some flame throwers on my lake pipes to really asert my dominance:D

    Yes,
No one wants to wait on traffic anymore. Even if they have to wait on traffic for a mere 15 seconds, they have no idea what patience means. The me generation.

Try driving in Ocala Fla. These Florida Crackers are nucking futz. You name it; they'll do it. Most impatient and self centered drivers I've ever seen.

I've seen some of those YouTube cop chase/takedown videos, a lot of them are from FLA.
WTF, those meth heads need a hobby!

In FL road rage is common and lots of drivers carry a gun so it's not a good idea to blow your horn at anybody.
In FL having patience behind the wheel is a survival requirement.

  6. I always like either the quad horns out of 70’s Buicks and Cadillacs .

even the dual horns from the 80’s Buicks and caddies had a commanding “ ship horn”
    Sound to them .

makes folks take notice without it being ear piercing like a high tone high decibel horn or “ squeaky” like an air horn

a simple “ BUWAAAAMMMMMMMMMM” and you’d think a freight train is behind you.

Anyways guns and drugs and road rage don’t mix .
What ever happened to simply knocking a guy out for being dumb and then both of you carry on with your day like nothing happened ? I miss those days :D

When I used to ride Harleys we had a saying Loud Pipes Save Lives.

  8. As an ex-Harley rider I can tell you from personal experience that 'loud pipes save lives' was just an excuse to remove mufflers. I lost count as to how many times I was cut off, had cars swerve into my lane or pull out in front of me. Best defense was to****ume you were invisible.

The idiot content out there is rising....

I just act like I’m invisible every time I drive. Then I’m not surprised when an idiot does idiotic things.

It’s truly amazing how often I find idiots pull out into my lane to pass while I’m out for a scoot on the bike, either fn blind or figure you’ll get over

  12. If you drive like everyone is trying to kill you, the extra caution will be your friend. I still ride a cycle but I don't live in a city. Blind people and cell phone users are everywhere. I'm not brave. This time of year we have to worry about deer hunting. The number of animal accidents is astounding. :)

I stopped driving my '32 Roadster to the LARS because of the idiots on the 210 freeway. I built the car to drive at freeway speeds with a Columbia 2-speed, but it has drum brakes and the stopping distance is nowhere near what a modern car can do. BMWs, Teslas and MB sedans are the worst offenders. So I'll just relax in my truck and let them all run into each other. I do have a '39 Ford bugle horn mounted on the radiator support rods and send 12V to it to get others attention, it's loud.

Any horns from '50's + '60s are better than what goes now.
For tone clarity 6 volt pieces should have a volt drop to be appreciated

I can testify to that. When running the 48 states in trailer truck,
I found time and again, that the 'un-rule-ey' driver,
( no clue of road manners or order of traffic symmetry )
had a FLA tag hanging out back.
    Quick, but different story here.
One trip I was Northbound I-5 thru Oregon, keeping tabs on traffic flow, I took note of one particular car that was jumping in and out of the passing lane cutting the clearances pretty close.
He would run up on the the**** of a car quick dart left zoom by then dive back into the right like some kind of thief.
I figured it must be some sort of criminal behavior.
As traffic goes tho, my steady pace, for miles, eventually put me in eyesight of the lic. tag.
When I saw it was from New Jersey, I thought he's okay.
Just driving like the way that they do, where he's from.:p

I have a buddy that has one of the Ford model A woody repro's that was factory built.

He had built it into a really nice old school rod with a small block Ford, painted reversed wheels etc and a couple weeks ago he was running down the interstate and had a guy pull over in front of him and forced him off the road, the car is wasted and he ended up seriously hurt with countless staples in his head but he's home now and the car is pieces. One good thing is it had a good heavy frame under it and that helped.

The guy that ran him off the road just kept going....

Nothing against bikes/riders, but I personally have experienced a handful of times where I have made a move based on the speed limit and what MPH I judged they were going.
Gotta say, (not bragging), but in my old age and state of eyesight I have become a much more defensive driver.
A gesture of thanks would have been welcomed, has not happened.

Run with your headlights on all the time. years ago I read the high percentage of cars involved in a head on didn’t have their headlights on. I’ve been running headlights on all my cars ever since.

They say that 7 out of every 10 drivers you encounter out there are affected by alcohol, drugs or over-tiredness.
The other 3 are probably texting......

I rode a Harley for a number of years. There is one thing you learn if you want to survive on a bike and that is defensive driving! You just figure that folks are going to pull out in front of you and turn left in front of you and you plan an escape route. If you don't your chances of making it are not good,

Now that the state has figured out how to make money from it and legalized it, I often smell marijuana from cars that drive down my road. Sooner or later that is going to end very badly for someone...

I also see people staring at their phones while driving; one time some dumb girl stopped in the middle of an intersection to yap on her phone, flipping off everyone who was honking their horns to get out of the way even though she was blocking traffic.

Here's this morning's commute madness; Airport Road right off 200 headed north. Black Mercedes switching back and forth between lanes with minimal clearance at maximum speed. Usually see the same car several times a week; also a Veloster driven by a woman with a serious case of***** you to everybody else.
And NO; I won't blow the horn at anyone down here. Don't engage in any kind of confrontation because we are ALL armed down here. Not gonna end up a video for Sheriff Billy Woods OR Grady Judd!
