http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=6783&item=2448591473 I'm not too sure of how the rule book is written for salt flats classes...but this would be pretty nifty w/ a nitro. mix six & a killer tube frame.
Same guy had those on Ebay back in Sept/Oct. Couldn't get any bites at $250,had to drop his price down. I think he finally sold one in November for $200.
Ive got a drop tank I paid $75 for a few years ago, it is pretty small at 2' X 10' but still has the same shape as the "traditonal" P38 tank. I think mine is from an F85 and Vietnam era because it has pinch weld all the way around instead of rivited and has an ignitor pouch with ignitor lead hold downs to turn it into a Napalm bomb!. My tank looks bigger in diameter than that I have already done mockups on it and about the only thing that will fit in there with me in it is a small four cylinder and transaxle. Being a VW hotrodder I happen to have a 1.8 16V GTI engine and an Audi 90 five speed transaxle and a rack of 40mm DCOEs laying around. I had a Willys front axle donated a while ago, I just can't wait to wade through the pile of projects I already have to start that one.
The SCTA now requires a full roll cage on newly constructed cars. If you could fit a cage inside that tank, and then fit inside the cage yourself... you'd be one slim guy. Speaking of Slim, that pic reminds me: - one .45 caliber automatic - two boxes of ammunition - four days' concentrated emergency rations - one drug issue containing antibiotics, morphine, vitamin pills, pep pills, sleeping pills, tranquilizer pills - one miniature combination Rooshin phrase book and Bible - one hundred dollars in rubles - one hundred dollars in gold - nine packs of chewing gum - one issue of prophylactics - three lipsticks - three pair of nylon stockings "Shoot, a fella could have a pretty good weekend in Vegas with all that stuff." Yee-HAW!
