i found a belly tank today, not sure what its from?
i was told it looks like a p4 tank? i dont know if i should
build a car or sell it? its in very good shape and is all aluminum,
the tank is 21' long. it has the fuel door, the fuel hookups, and you can see the baffle lines in it.. could this be worth anything? i figure the material i could get a decent amount of money. thanks for any info i get.

Looks like a center tank from a Phantom?

Not a wing tank, the mount pylon appears to be flat (Underside of Phantom was too), shape is a match for early Phantom tanks. They went to 'tube' style with a nose cone and tail.

Put an Allison in it and go to Bonneville!

  6. What is the diameter of the widest part? That will be what determines if you can fit a motor or a person with a full cage inside it.

Looking at the pic of it in the truck I would say there is no problem in the space issue!
A P-4 is a version of the Boeing 767 so doubt it came from one of those!!

That first picture is frickin' priceless.

The phrase "ten pounds of shit in a five pound sack" springs immediately to mind.

It's cool, don't get me wrong, that pic just struck me funny. :D

  13. Thats funny.. when I picked up my tank, which is an A110 Super Sabre tank, I loaded it so it was not hanging out past the tailgate..

Meaning it was stuck up at an angle over the cab. Kinda like a Scud missile launcher. I had a Sheriff copter follow me home with a follow up from some of their ground troops.

I laughed my ass off. At them.

Unfortunately, my tank is too narrow for me to fit in, or to put much more than a banger in. But if you are skinny, it would work.

Got a data plate on it?
    Capacity listed anywhere?
F-4 centerline tanks were 600 gallon capacity.

I would guess F4 center tank as well. From working on a military contract based in Vegas, I can tell you there is a LOT of F4 stuff located in that area. Very possible that's what you have.

Oh yeah, lots of F18 stuff in that area too. Forgot about those. Not sure of the production date for F18's, but could also be a possibility.

The F18 was only on the drawing board in 72 and that is a latter center tank on that F4.

  23. It is a tank from an F-4 Phantom I have the same one. They are plenty big enough for just about anything and they are simple to take apart compared to the A-10 tank I am working on (special fasteners suck).

The Monster Garage build did a build off this style of tank. they used a blown small block.

  24. That thing is awsome. Huge!
