Hey guys I removed everything from my wife's Torino engine bay 302 to clean and paint everything, well I lost a powersteering spacer. I just added about 4 washers and called it good but I have a bad belt squeal. I replaced the belt so I think my pullies are out of alignment.

Anyone know a good way to align the pullies? I know if anyone would know it would be hear....

    Thanks
    Rod

Look for the spacer or go to a junkyard and get another one.

^^ like he said ,,, if you can find one.

if not, use a short level or straight piece of tin and lay it across the face of both pulleys..make sure all the surfaces are touching the straight edge, and thats aligned as good for now...finding a way to shim it straight is up to you and what you have..(disclaimer..this works with matched pulleys, of same V..)

or if you have a basic ruler long enough..

Don't mean to insult, but you said clean and paint everything. You didn't paint the V-grooves in the pulleys, did you? That will do it everytime....................
