Found this really nice front seat, supposedly from a '37-'40 sedan. It must have been stored very early in it's life - it's like new (needs cleaning). It has a hard wood frame - I'm guessing it's early to mid-30's. Both seats tilt forward. Anybody able to I.D. this thing?
I figured that out pretty quick...... They're too wide for my '36 build, but for $125 I had to get them. I'd like to get them to someone that's doing a restoration on whatever the he!! they're out of.... .
A '37 Tudor seat (maybe later years too) will fit a '36. Second the idea that it does not look like a Ford seat.
The seller said '37-'40, but most wood was out of cars before then - this seat is wood construction. I believe the fabric pattern or the seat adjustment lever is going to be the give-away.
Here's pictures of a 41 & 47 Desoto 2 door seat. No wood in either one of them. Since Chrysler, Dodge, and Desoto were pretty much the same, except fabrics and trim, I think you can eliminate 1940's Mopars. ras
Well, I found some pics of cars for sale. One was a '39 Chevy Master Deluxe Business Coupe. I wasn't able to copy the pics but it definitely was the same seat. Mystery solved.
