So I currently have this bench seat in my 56 chevy 150. I was told its probably out of an early 60's Chevy. I have been kicking around going with buckets. I like buckets and the wife likes bench:D what do you think. anybody want to trade???

I have a 49 Meteor and a 50 Ford coupe, both cars have 1964 thunderbird front buckets and rear seat.I like tha buckets as long as they are the old style with the chrome around them, and of course low back.

There are times when I wish my car had buckets, and times when I wish it was a bench. It all depends on what mood my wife is in that day.

Cake has a song called " Stick Shifts and Safety Belts"

Stick Shifts And Safety Belts lyrics
    Stickshifts and safetybelts,
Bucket seats have all got to go.
When we're driving in the car,
It makes my baby seem so far.
I need you here with me,
Not way over in a bucket seat.
I need you to be here with me,
Not way over in a bucket seat.
But when we're driving in my Malibu,
It's easy to get right next to you.
I say, "Baby, scoot over, please."
And then she's right there next to me.
I need you here with me,
Not way over in a bucket seat.
I need you to be here with me,
Not way over in a bucket seat.

    Nuff said IMHO

buckets are for muscle cars and smaller rods. '50s = bench all the way. I have a 60 and have had this debate running through my head for a while. If I could score a pair of GM buckets from 60-63 with the chrome back frame, then no brainer, but they are NOT cheap. Go bench. My wife told me bench seats as well. nuff said

My `55 has shoulder height buckets in it...Thats what I prefer. But I am not the one driving your car either...

  14. I think nearly every car I've owned (lots of Mustangs) up to my 40 Merc have had buckets.
The Mercury has the original bench and back seat reupholstered in updated fabrics. It's like sitting in a really compfy sofa. Has some bucket too it too. It fits the character of car perfectly. You can get 3 peeps across too. Try that in a '40 Ford.
I drove it home from the Chicago area to the Twin Cities the day I bought it. 500 miles. No complaints.

If you have the stock seat, use it. You will be glad if you ever sell the car.

  19. The bombers are cool on the smaller cars.
Tractor seats if you have bladder issues.:p

  20. Buckets are for coupes, benches are for sedans, wagons are for getting laid in comfortably!

I had buckets in a 55 150 and didn't care for them at all. Always wished I would have had a bench.
