Well, other that hooking an electric fuel pump up to it to make sure that the needle and seat doesn't leak, I don't know what else you'd do.
You can blow through the fuel inlet and see if air goes through and then turn the carb upside down and see if it stops to check the needle and seat. then put some fuel in the float bowels though the bowl vents and check the accelerator pump and use a blow gun through the ventures and see if fuel shows up at the boosters.
Other than Stromberg 97's, never was concerned with a needle and seat leaking !! Put the seat in clean and tight. Put the needle in, very clean. Set the float height per the book OR your desires. What else is there ? Mike
You can use the old mineral spirits to check the squirting and pump......make sure is the old oily stuff (can't get it down here in Orange County). I wouldn't get it near the float unless it's br*** also.
C&S carburetors has a test rig set up that is essentially a flow bench. They can verify CFM at various throttle positions, find vacuum leaks. Pretty serious.
