Ben and Jim made it into the MotorCity late last night. This morning it was out to the farm to pick up the Mopar that I had posted in the classifieds. They got a good blast of Michigan!

figured it was better to drag it to the road than get Ben stuck.

getting ready for that long haul. Jim misplelled his name in the snow and had to start over.

The three of us went and warmed up over lunch. They each got the customary shop aprons (some on the front seat for you too Tony) and they were on their way. BenD and JimC left for Terre Haute, Ind. about 3:30 e.s.t.. Two extremely nice guys who are welcome in my home anytime.

and made it to my place at 1AM [IMG] BenD was smiling, JimC looked alittle worn out [IMG] Had a ncie visit, hit the hay, then another quick chat in the morning over coffee. I guess a short visit is better then no visit. They were both a pleasure to have as guests.

To all those that they brought parts for, everything is on my back porch. Stop by when it's convinient.

It was my pleasure Tony. Listening to Jim though and I'm not sure the cars gonna make it to your house. He said something about going home and sending your money in the mail. Call me if you need anything,

Those poor guys got the worst day we've had up here yet this winter. Sorry I didn't get a chance to catch up with them.

    A bunch Boones. [IMG]

JimC and I rolled in about 6pm tonight. Worn out, but already talking about the next run.

We really enjoyed meeting some new Hambers and appreciated the hospitality of the ones we already knew.
It amazes me when people I've talked to twice via email offer up a room or a meal to a couple of complete strangers. It makes the world feel "right" these days.

Time for some rest. If you have contacted me about a haul, I'll be in touch soon.

    Thanks Ya'll

It never ceases to amaze me of the quality of folks you meet through the HAMB!
I had an incredible adventure with the Amazing(tm) BenD.
The hospitality of the Michigan folks is sure hard to beat.
who, in this time, opens their homes to strangers?
I can not say enough about the experience.

I will share some of the lessons I learned, though.

    1. Keep your fingers out of BenD's glove box!

    2. NEVER trust anyone with a camera in their hands!

    3. When the truck is loaded, BenD can put another car on it.

    4. Days are longer for BenD than they are for "normal" folks.

    5. Michigan folks wont let you leave hungry.

    6. BenD knows the cool people.

I want to make it CLEAR that I DO know how to spell my name.
    I was merely practicing. [IMG]
wanted to get it right, you know.

    Would I do it again?
    When do we leave?

    I forgot No 7.
BenD is a stand up guy, but he will "get" down for a better look [IMG].

Assdragger, Take good care of (my) baby.

Robert, thanks for the gifts and lunch.
HotRod Lady Cruiser, thanks for the hospitality.
    Ben, thanks for the memories.
Mr. Helton, I enjoyed your company and thanks for the shop tour.
Zack, good luck on the Model A.
Zman, thanks for your shop tour, too. It was a good feeling to see your Booik finally home.

Look for some of the cars Ben hauled to show up for HAMB Drags 05.

Till the next road trip, All take care.

Ok Mike, Was that aimed at me, and if it was....what the hell are you talking about? UNLESS, it was a remark aimed at my tool shed!! [IMG]

The gasket kit will be in for the Road Runner tomarrow and if I get real energetic maybe I`ll get the bitch running on Sunday.

OH, JimC, just to rub in the little bonus I found..IT`S A POSI!! [IMG]
