Apparently some time ago I had blurted out that instead of selling the usual candles or cookie dough for fund raising (that it seems every local school/***ociation does year end, and year out) I fessed up that I could probably throw a car show for my daughter's school/softball ***ociation, and it'd be more fun than all the kids trying to sell dough/candles to all their relatives. Well, according to my wife, as of tonight, I'm now in the "car show" organizing business. The show/fund raiser is scheduled for this May 15th, at the local fairgrounds athletic fields (in Caruthers, California), and supports the youth softball league summer all-star teams. For those of you guys that have put together some of these things... HELP! Any hints on what, to do/not to do, to make this thing (and make that a "last minute" thing) a somewhat sucess? We are asking for a $10.00 donation per car/bike, with awards being handed out for a couple of categories. And the concessions are already figured out too (was told that's where much of the fund raising will come from). I plan on doing the flier p*** out deal (at a weekend car show, and an upcoming swap meet), and some of the other parents are going to hit up some local businesses to post the fliers/ask for gift donations. I posted it on the HAMB calendar, and hopefully some of Central Valley, California HAMB'ers will be kind enough to stop by, if they don't already have plans. We're talking about making this a yearly event, so fess up any ideas...please! Thanks in advance
