  5. Well there’s a test and tune coming up next month and I’ve got no second gear and apon further inspection a damaged main shaft too. So out with the box and try to find parts to rebuild this. If I have time id like to try get a list of things altered and fabricated to make this better on the track! Lots to come next week.

2nd gear? We don't need no stinking 2nd gear...

  7. Well I thought I had a 39 box with synchros but upon further inspection it’s just a late 36-39 box and no 3” fork. All good just need to find a cluster and 2nd gear! Would be nice to run a later set

I don't see how those skinny tires could hook up hard enough on dirt to break the gears.

  13. While I figure out what I’m doing with the gear box I decided to make a louver die mount that attaches within the press brake. Took some tweaking and massaging but the out cone is getting better.
I’m undecided but thought about painting the hood and sides body colour but leave the louvers polished in the shape maybe a fine pin line the separate the colours.

How do you align the louvers, hold the piece in position? This is a neat tool, great work!

Watched the video yesterday good stuff. Did you modify the male due when you cut the female a little rounder? I think I missed that part

I’m Also curious if your hood sides have a little distortion/ pucker between the rows of louvers or if it’s the reflections of the louvers themselves onto the polished hood side?

great work, really enjoy your videos

I didn’t have to modify the male, just the female part of it just trying to make the radius smoothers.
It didn’t distort too bad, a very small amount but the cut and press is so smooth it helps a lot with that. The back press also helped with this as well and came out better than i could have imagined

  25. Made a wire buck and formed a little screen from some 1.6mm aluminum. I’m on the fence with painting it body colour or polishing.
Definitely breaks up the flat cowl section.

Hey that’s cool! I vote leaving it brushed/raw but polished would be my second choice

That looks great. My vote is polish the outside and leave the inside brushed.

Paint it so there is not a break in the visual flow. Too many pieces with different colors, shapes, or textures. Have someone photo shop it. You do fantastic work!
