  3. More progress today, made and full panel and matched the body line and continued it through into the cowl. Lots more to go 78C8EB2B-098D-4F77-9033-1075574951EC.jpeg B81DC85A-B36F-4ABE-BB32-54C8ADF45039.jpeg 1CB086A2-4ACB-4DCD-BB73-606654903565.jpeg CEBED6AF-B703-4BCE-90BF-BAF7D84E87AC.jpeg 94E88E23-F8EB-44AD-9D6D-852A7803A201.jpeg 7138FCBF-0AA9-4922-8EF5-3546DD52526E.jpeg C6170606-AF5D-4C64-8268-FEB92F2E55A7.jpeg 018F2204-7F90-4059-97E6-A87968E7F263.jpeg

It's actually starting to look like a shoe! Not so easy to get long legs in, I hardly dare I ask if you're having a door or a really big shoe horn?

At Bonneville we had “bailout” requirements.
    A, are you strapped in?
B, do you have to show that you can get clear within a time constraint?

My thoughts also, dropping the sides would also prevent elbow strikes, and allow the driver to lean out which can be very useful sometimes.

Nope fortunately not needed just a few required tow points, brakes and steering

I realize that I sound like my Father

    but…..

you’ve built a cool little racer. It’s spindly tall with 90+ year old rims

you understand that these cars would break a rim and go over in a blink? A lot of guys didn’t survive a tumble in the old days

my guess is there’s no roll bar provision mostly because it wouldn’t be in keeping with the design of the racer.
You, from your previous information provided, are a large guy. Are you going to be able to get low enough into the body to survive the car going over?

Please don’t take my questions wrong, I am a complete nut for speed. The faster the better. Except that I love going fast then turning this way and that. I am a speed junkie. Always have been since we raced down the beach at the ocean when I was a kid sitting in my Dad’s lap
I just want to survive to play another day

I love watching the guys overseas race their prewar cars. Mechanical brakes (usually just rear), no roll bars, no seat belts, elbows hanging out. Massive grins.

Lots to go but feel like I’m getting somewhere

Well it looks great, you do fit in, and we can't even see your knees or your feet.
I'd say you're pretty well on target.
    Nice videos too!

Hood and body are coming out great

Which method did you use on the hood? Rolling the metal over a helium/argon bottle or a slip roll?

I don’t remember how much time that you have until the meet. As I remember it’s in September

I’m curious, how do you prioritize your “to do” tasks? Do you use a white board, a notepad or just keep it in your head?

    Go man go

  19. I used the English wheel and taped the main wheel to get only a 2D contour. I just know what needs to be done so I set small goals everyday and try and achieve them

Got a few more shots outside and started the rear head portion, trying to blend some style from the front grill and panels made. 0AF48FF2-E220-41E2-A51D-E7C43DCA4FF1.jpeg AF77EE51-5825-4915-8417-0E47A795324B.jpeg C7CC4F8C-4111-466C-BF4B-464C93F9497D.jpeg 3F3D5036-CB6F-4F33-9CA5-0ECD773641D1.jpeg CAFD833B-BC03-491B-BFE7-6E205E04B280.jpeg ACDB875D-1077-4AB4-B8DA-8AAD0C32ABCD.jpeg 934D419C-45A7-4FCC-AD03-72FFAC527AEB.jpeg

  25. I WAS HOPING YOU WERE GONNA DO SOMETHJING LIKE THAT ON THE BACK, MORE OF A TRADITIONAL STYLE RACECAR. BUT!!! I DON'T CARE FOR THE GAS DOOR. A FLIP UP GAS CAP WOULD GO BETTER. IS THAT TEMPORARY?

  26. WHAT'S YOUR PLAN FOR THE BACK OF THE FRAME? NERF BAR/BUMPER/PUSH BAR?

Seeing as it’s a fender it was already there and as it doesn’t effect the overall shape it’s probably not on the top of the list.

I do like that it’s got a door, it’s more streamline and hints where this panel came from

Personally, I like the gas door. Gives it a more streamlined look. Feels like something from a pro race team, not back yard racers doing whatever is cheap and easy.

That's what came to mind when I first saw the gas door.
